Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 07, 2015 10:42 pm HI All, We are early stages of building with Easystart here in WA. I love this design but I feel the laundry has a lot of wasted space so I just wanted to get input on making it more useful I do want a double door pantry so that's a must on the cards. (reduce the bed 3 robe same as bed 2) Any suggestions? https://easystarthomes.com.au/home-designs/the-santorini Our Easystart Build in Annie's Landing https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81061&p=1478674#p1478674 Re: Design help for Kitchen and Laundry 2Oct 09, 2015 7:26 am Hi Chantal - I'd consider getting rid of the recess in the entrance to make the ensuite bench bigger, and I'd keep the laundry size but I'd probably see if I could have some of it as a WIP? I'd personally not want to lose robe space in bed3. I'd also consider extending the kitchen bench towards the alfresco wall - that way you'd have a huge work space and also larger breakfast area. Good luck with your plan selections! Re: Design help for Kitchen and Laundry 3Oct 09, 2015 10:30 am I saw a great display home and what they did with that laundry type area was first the put a wall down the middle of your laundry and have a door that matches your kitchen cardboards (so when closed it looks like 2 large cupboards. Then on the laundry side they had a door going outside on the other side of the room. They made that the laundry with dryer and bench one side and cupboards the other. Then on the other side which you come in on the other side of the kitchen was a butler's pantry with a small window above the counter and then shelves above and below for pantry stuff. This way you can keep everything out of sight. Then you could keep the larger robe in bedroom 3 and then still have the pantry cardboard as an extra cardboard. Here is a link to where the display home design is so you can get idea of what I'm explaining. http://www.gjgardner.com.au/offices/coffs-harbour-1580/display-homes/the-stillwater-303-331.aspx ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Design help for Kitchen and Laundry 4Oct 13, 2015 4:01 pm MalSannie Hi Chantal - I'd consider getting rid of the recess in the entrance to make the ensuite bench bigger, and I'd keep the laundry size but I'd probably see if I could have some of it as a WIP? I never got a notification that I had responses I'll definitely be getting rid of that recess as its just wasted space really. And the extra bench space in the kitchen is a great idea!
