Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 2Sep 28, 2015 10:39 pm So the slab went down the other week, I'll post more pictures later as I'm currently away. They have already done the soak wells and sewage run in as well. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The Project Administrator has been great. They e-mailed us the morning the slab was being poured to confirm it was going down, even included a couple of pictures of the slab being poured. I went down that arvo and had a look, picked up one minor problem with the slab, the recess for the hobless shower in the ensuite ended a bit short. I sent and e-mail to the PA and they forwarded it to the construction manager who reviewed and agreed and said it would be fixed (this was all the same day). I went down a couple of days later and it was fixed. I also had already booked in an Independent Inspection (not because of this, but just as a matter of good practice) , and they inspected later on and the report came back that all was good, concretor had done a good job, so I was happy with that. Next Inspections will be plate height and roof, see how they go and might do PCI etc. Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 3Sep 28, 2015 10:54 pm Wow nice size master! And kitchen! Nice sized master! Any reason you went for sliding robes rather than a WIR? Also following, were hopefully going to be slabbed in November *fingers crossed* Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 5Sep 29, 2015 9:05 pm archetto Wow nice size master! And kitchen! Following Thanks Archetto, I've been following your build, not long now hopefully, things are looking good. MattandErin Unconventional floor plan, however I do like It! Nice sized master! Any reason you went for sliding robes rather than a WIR? Also following, were hopefully going to be slabbed in November *fingers crossed* Thanks MattandErin, yeah it is a bit unconventional, but works for us. We had a few plans that had a massive WIR but we ended up taking it out. Believe me I know they are great and have this wow factor but when we looked at how big ours was going to be it sort of seemed a lost opportunity to put that space to better use. Plus since the bedroom was so big the WIR would fit in perfectly, the wardrobe doors will be a feature of the room, one side will be smoked mirrors and the other will be black glass (ones either side of the tv recess). Also the doors will be all the way from the floor to the ceiling, there isn't a bulk head so will be quite large. Also when we lost the WIR and transferred it to the Sliding it was the same metres of hanging space. The WIR in the other bedroom is for the daughter, and is a bit more usefull for her and was a good size. Fingers crossed for your slab as well, things start getting real then.. Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 6Sep 29, 2015 9:25 pm I absolutely love the layout, you cannot beat the luxury and style of a ranch style layout. Looks really great having the garage angled and the large alfresco, sure will be a beautiful home! We also still speak to and e-mail our Sales Rep, she has been great, one thing we know is that we can always go to her, she has been with HH for many years so knows everyone and all the ins and outs of building.. so she is on the receiving end of all our questions, which has never been to much trouble. Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 13Oct 05, 2015 9:44 pm Received advice that the slab should be marked up tomorrow and brickies should start on Wednesday Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 15Oct 06, 2015 9:45 pm Thanks Woolyfish, yeah it took a few revisions and a lot of umming and ahhing but we got there. I'll post some elevation plans tomorrow as where I am now the internet is really slow. Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 16Oct 06, 2015 10:07 pm Yay for bricks .... Thanks Mand+Steve, yeah getting real now Re: Highbury Homes, Custom Single Story build, Perth SoR. 18Oct 08, 2015 12:36 pm Here is the kitchen layout.. hopefully it works The island is will be an informal eating area as well, where you can sit on both sides as there is a void on the stove side, only just a microwave tucked to the side. I e-mailed the SS just to give him a heads up and got a reply back that he was aware of it and will ensure he checks them prior to being laid. Super impressed that I got a response back within 30mins.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering.
