Simonds Express - Rathdowne - Western Melbourne

We are at roof stage, building the Nicholson, very happy with things so far, and very quick!

Our land settled 28/8, building commenced basically the next day!
Building in Regional Vic.
We went with standard everything, but are really happy with it all ☺

Its been super quick, very impressed. We live just around the corner, so go to the block every night, I will post some pics tonight when I get home.
Have our first inspection tomorrow with the Site Supervisor.

We went out today to get a look at what rubbish we have to clear (we knew there was a bit), moved all the big stuff into a pile (lots of concrete in the back corner?!) and put all the small stuff in a bag. I kind of hate that we couldn't take everything today because I have a feeling our rubbish pile is going to grow before we can get back there

DD LOVED helping, she's really getting into this whole process. She was very proud of her new work gloves Unfortunately the baby doesn't share her same enthusiasm and was pretty fussy while we were out there (which meant I spent about half the time sitting in the car feeding him!).

While we were there two of the workers that helped work on the state came by and chatted to us, first mostly to ask about prices and sizes of the lots, and then they were saying how the area we've built in has always been paddock so the soil is good and clean. They were back to finish up a couple of things, apparently thieves were out stealing all the new copper so a bunch of that was being replaced today. One of the lots across from us has already started, looks like we're not the only keeners around!

We were out at the land yesterday and loaded up all the rubbish to take to the tip. Someone had been out and spray painted all the cracks on our crossover and our lot makers (I'm assuming the cracks are either to be fixed or to show that they weren't caused by the build?).
Went in and signed off on our final construction drawings today, site start was tentatively set for the 2nd but it's a public holiday so I'm assuming things will get rolling next week. We had another variation to sign because our garage has to be a little lower than usual due to the pitch of our driveway (we've got quite a hill from the street to the lot - it's that way on the whole block).

We're moving in with DF's parents while the house is being built so we're in the process of trying to get the house packed and cleaned and ready to go for the 19th. What a huge job! ugh!

Any movement yet on site?

We've got action on the block! Our scrape has been done!
I have no idea what bits actually correspond with the house and what bits are just part of the scrape, but it's exciting anyway!

Also exciting is the park right around the corner from us is coming along nicely! We weren't sure if it was just going to be an open field with trees or if any equipment would be going in. DD (4yo) is pretty excited about the park! (the kinder she'll be going to is right up the road too so we're trying to get her excited about all this sort of stuff )

It shouldn't take too long for you! We signed our final construction drawings on Tuesday (29.09.15) and we were tentatively scheduled to be onsite on Friday (02.10.15) but that got delayed due to the public holiday. I'm assuming our scrape happened within the last day or two.
Our MySimonds site has been updated with tentative dates for the rest of the build, it says PCI should be done by the end of December. Shame it doesn't take holidays into account, we're guessing we'll be in Feb/March depending on if we have delays and how much they can get done before Christmas.
