I can see myself going to adairs harbour town again before we get keys...addicted Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Shopping help! 1364Sep 15, 2015 11:15 pm I was at The Pottery Barn for the first time yesterday. I loved so many things, especially lots and lots of cushions. Sigh, if I only had the money to buy everything I liked. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Shopping help! 1365Sep 15, 2015 11:22 pm I didn't find much at pottery barn I liked but I found heaps at west elm next door, drool! I wanted the dark blue velvet cushion with pom-poms. I don't have anything else to go with it but I so wanted it haha Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Shopping help! 1367Sep 19, 2015 1:49 am So we had our tile meeting today, I thought I would leave the meeting feeling excited but I just felt disappointed. Firstly no tiler was there, so what was the point. None of the work I expected to have happened this week was done, it was another slow week, we are just 4 weeks away from the 12 month mark, I really expected more. It honestly feels like I will never receive the keys! It's just getting me down lately because if things had of been scheduled well, we could have been living in our home now. Anyway...I finally got to touch my bench tops etc but it just wasn't exciting, we just found work by careless trades and damage done to walls and doors, stupid things that will now need to be repaired which will hold keys up even more, and we still have a water leak. The positives... I'm hoping for a miracle of PCI in 4 weeks but it's not looking good Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Shopping help! 1368Sep 19, 2015 1:56 am Omg arch! I was just in adairs yesterday! Omgness I'm so jelly of your purchases.. I'm still buying towels from target, big w and kmart! Loving all your choices! My hubby hates it but I don't think it's such a necessary thing to be so lux about.. Linen is another story.. 1000tc all the way haha! Don't know if you saw but in adairs they have this gorgeous cushion pillow that was grey with baby orange stitching! And times of grey baby orange stuff! I was in loveeeee! They are from target and were on sale for $100, bargain! These towels were actually so discounted they were the same price as target if not cheaper and a lot better quality, definitely check out the adairs clearance store at harbour town, they are current season but 65% cheaper. It is really disappointing they have changed our supervisor again, especially when you are so close to keys. Hope the area manager can get things moving for you again. The sinks all look good and love the benchtops. Stairs look good too and great that it's not fully enclosed. Yes, wish trades took a bit more care. We already have dents in a few place too. It's like 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Hope things pick up next week and tiling starts soon. Was so hoping they could pull it off under the 52 week mark for you. Should've built a display home Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1371Sep 19, 2015 2:24 am Yes I should of! They only take 9 months.....amazing Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1372Sep 19, 2015 2:33 am I know and to think they can't get trades south of the river. Must be the building fairies at it again Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1373Sep 19, 2015 4:00 am archetto I'm so sorry you were disappointed, if you didn't meet a tiler and you don't have an SS who met with you at this meeting? I'm really sorry your build is held up again. I was thinking just 2 days ago how lovely it was that you were staying so positive and keeping your thread occupied and us all too with your lovely shopping. I really really hope they pull their finger out and get you into your beautiful home!!! On a positive though I love your stairs it looks lovely, your benchtops are gorgeous as are your doors. Hang in there girl it'll be worth the wait I'm sure! Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1374Sep 19, 2015 5:24 am I know how you feel Archetto. We had our slab one week later than you and we are way behind you. The original theory was that we should receive keys in 2 weeks. I'm hoping you get your miracle, then it's possible for us too! Well maybe not 4 weeks for us, but perhaps 8. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1375Sep 19, 2015 10:40 am That's no good Arch. House is looking good though apart from the issues that wi be fixed at some point. I can relate to the half door, we still don't have ours in. I think because they are small they just get forgotten. We had more torn down this week than put up again. A very slow non eventful week again. Cornices in powder room, bathroom and ensuite and toilet were all ripped down. Apparently with rectified tiles the cornices go on last so oops again. Plans, schedules, anyone. Hope they fix the leak soon. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1376Sep 19, 2015 10:53 am Your nearly there, will all be a distant memory soon. Question.... Do all other building companies have such a high turnover with SS as Ben Trager do? Seems to be a trend with all their builds. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1377Sep 19, 2015 11:12 am Ughh! Sorry to hear Archetto. I really hope you have better progress next week. Love all your purchases though. It's a nightmare when other trades stuff up the hard work of others All the fittings look lovely though and it's good to see some progress. Just keep shopping and it will all be fine Re: Our Ben Trager Build - Tile meeting done... 1379Sep 19, 2015 12:43 pm Sorry to hear of your delays but hopefully soon they will be a distant memory You know the old saying!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry to see the delays it's extremely painful seeing weeks go by with no action but hang in there because honestly I have already forgotten about the 12 week delay from lock up to tiling.
