Also what brand of alarm system is provided by MJH? If you got alarm installed by MJ? A/C is in Colour or both Colour and electrical. Alarm is in electrical and it is listed in the colour selection booklet, but not all of them. It is installed by security co. Or alarm co., not MJH Our build with MJH http://ganilton.blogspot.com.au/?m=1 Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 12309Sep 14, 2015 8:29 pm rdevi Has anyone upgraded their heart of the home package standard fridge to the water n ice maker? How much did that cost? Also how is smeg compared to fisher & paykel. We thinking of changing the kitchen appliance to smeg If you want to read reviews, best to check reviews on line, or even pay for Choice reviews. i am pretty sure that Fisher and Paykel is now owned by the Chinese. Not sure where they are made now. I have a 10 year old P & K fridge that has never given me any problems. But it was made in NZ. We have gone with Smeg. But our build did not have the new heart of the home package. Im leaning towards smeg but my sales consultant said f & p is good as well . BTW we can change the kitchen appliance but not the fridge so will be keeping the f & p fridge but thinking of upgrading to ice n water Building "The Havana Executive Elite" Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 12311Sep 14, 2015 9:29 pm Ganilton echo305 alarm and changes to A/C will be done during electrical appointment? What is the brand of alarm system provided by MJH/ security co, just want to compare apple to Apple, to decide whether or should get the alarm system installed through MJ or do it after handover? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 12312Sep 14, 2015 11:25 pm Hi echo, Alarm system used by MJH is Bosch. Comes with three sensors, battery backup etc. Extra cost for pet friendly sensors and 2x remote control for alarm. I got quotes before hand and this Bosch was comparable in price. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 12313Sep 15, 2015 3:04 pm peternkye Has anyone kept standard ceilings? Hi peternkye, We kept standard height ceilings and to be honest I don't mind them. In saying that I reckon when we build again one day we would go the higher ceilings for that feeling of extra space but I don't regret not getting them I'm just used to them now, I only notice when we go to our neighbour's house who also built the Nova, they have the high ceilings LOL. I look at the bright side, it takes a bit less to heat and cool the place Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 12314Sep 15, 2015 3:28 pm Nat84 peternkye Has anyone kept standard ceilings? Don't forget when you pick raised ceilings (the 2.7) you don't have to but sort of need to to get the full effect ....raise all the internal doors ($1500) and sliding doors (for us 4 sets at around 1200 per set) ouch ..... Expensive But must admit it looks great Buildingthegardenretreat.blogspot.com.au Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 12316Sep 15, 2015 7:38 pm Hi All, I have two questions I hope you can help with. Our plans have just been approved by Camden Council and MJH have a few requests for us. We are building the Edenvale at Willowdale, East Leppington. ACOUSTICS REPORT - MJH are requesting we send them the acoustics report for our block. Apparently our conveyancer or stockland will have this, and neither do! Stockland said I would need to have someone privately do it if the builder requires it. Has anyone been through this? BAL RATING INCREASED! When we bought our block we were provided a rating of 12.5. Council have advised our new BAL is 19! Anyone else been through this? Thanks for your help guys. This is our third build and this is the first time we have gone with the high ceilings. It cost us $8,660.00 to increase the ceiling height and $1,160.00 to increase internal door heights. We also paid an additional $2,840.00 to have coffered ceilings in the entry and home theatre. Definitely not a cheap upgrade!! Our previous builds were with Huxley Homes and Clarendon Homes and both went really smoothly. This build with MJH has definitely been the most stressful build for us by far. We haven't received the price yet but we are told it will be done at Colours. We did our tender under the old price and the hart of the home package came out a week later. Our sales consultant said that we can get the package but have to accept the new price which was $5k, we went with this as I had no means of buying all of that stuff for $5k. Looks like quite a few people are moving along with their builds which is great to see. We just got given a date for PCI as 22 nd sept with keys maybe a week later . Pretty exciting news. Am getting a bit scared now ! We Can start actually booking proper dates for the tiler and carpet and all the other stuff . I Looked in through the windows today and looks like an animal has been living inside with droppings in quite a few places...... Ewwww ! I am so hoping I was seeing something else .... haha ..... Buildingthegardenretreat.blogspot.com.au Hi Sarah (gardenretreat1) That's is great news for you about PCI on 22 September. I bet you can't wait.
