Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Sep 06, 2015 8:53 am Hi I tried reading the barriers rules for pools in Qld but got lost!!! Would appreciate help with where we could put our pool. I have attached the plans. https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=67A6FB23FCD3489F!4495&authkey=!AKbePABIO24uDAI&v=3&ithint=photo%2cJPG There is a gap between the alfresco and the living room that is 4.6mX9m. We just want a small pool( say 2.5x4.5) . I would like to put it as close to the fence as possible. How close can we build the pool to the boundary fence in Qld? As we have never had a pool before our knowledge is limited so if anyone has advise on where they would situate the pool it would be much appreciated. North is top of drawing so pool is east side. Kind regards Paul Re: Pool placement and Qld regulations 2Sep 06, 2015 9:15 am To give any advice I would be wanting to see full site plan to see what yard space you have at the rear . What is the distance from living area to boundary ? Is it doors or windows in living room opening to alcove area ? Is it sloping or level block ? Without this basic info I wouldn't even consider a design . Cheers Re: Pool placement and Qld regulations 3Sep 06, 2015 11:23 am Hi wheeliworks The full plans are being drawn up as we speak. I was just jumping the gun a bit to get ideas The site is flat. The front garden from alfresco to North boundary fence is 4 metres. Alfresco and living to east border fence is 4 metres. East boundary is to local park. West of house is minimum setback to boundary... So no space there. The living has sliding doors to garden. Cheers Paul Re: Pool placement and Qld regulations 4Sep 06, 2015 4:42 pm Hi pauljew, We have built out pool right to the boundary in brisbane with the 1.8m pool fence being on top of the 20cm pool shell. No issues to do this - we found out we could do this at the home show this time last year. It was great for us as we are building a large house on an inner city small lot so it enabled us to still put a decent size pool in Re: Pool placement and Qld regulations 6Sep 07, 2015 7:35 pm Sean at malibu pools were who we went with because he had been out to site to give us a quote just prior. We were originally going to build 1m from the boundary as we thought that was the minimum. Then when we were told at the home show we could build to the boundary we contacted Malibu to see if it could be done that way or we were going to go with the homeshow people (casino pools I think they were). also a plus of doing it this way is that it saved us having to build a retaining wall that we would have otherwise required on the back fenceline. No issues with Malibu, they have been great to deal with. If you don't want to annoy the neighbours then simply get yourself some good head phones. For me the sound is much better using headphones.
