But to get display quality you have to spend a lot on top of package price. So then it comes to who has better inclusions?! So far I found Rawson and Metricon has best inclusion but final price might be higher. Some people may not have budget to build with best inclusions with high price. If the design which works best with your lifestyle then inclusion might not be important in choosing builder. For me design was the first priority among those builders. We are building the Livingstone and yet to go through our appointments and was wondering how the ventilation is with just a standard 3 in 1 light and exhaust fan or has anyone upgraded or done anything to help with better ventilating it without a window or fresh air? Thanks Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12774Aug 15, 2015 7:56 pm Adam_C shellaw24 Seeing as people are interested in the cost of all of the things, we just heard back from our estimator that in choosing an under/overmount sink for our bathrooms it would cost and extra $500 per sink to have them undermounted due to extra stone polishing (you must have stone to be able to have an undermount sink apparently) or $50 per sink to have them overmounted to account for having to drill a separate hole for the tap... originally the sinks cost us $35 per sink to upgrade to and these extra costs for installation were never mentioned up until now. http://www.caroma.com.au/bathrooms/basins/cosmo/cosmo-under--over-counter-basin Just some food for thought when looking at different sinks Just thought I would add my 2 cents worth in here. I want an undermount sink in my kitchen, only told my husband today while out looking at sinks then commented that the cost put me off. We are going to put in solid timber benchtops as he is a cabinetmaker/joiner and can make them himself. He then informed me he can make any overmount into an undermount and started rattling off former clients he had done this for when he owned his own kitchen making business. I mentioned your post about only been able to have an undermount in stone and he said the only reason you have been told that is that its beyond their capabilities and any highly skilled cabinetmaker can do it. Makes me wonder how much misinformation people are given because their builders just don't know how to do something. I hope your build went well. Cheers for that. I'm a bit confused, as I got upgraded basins in the Best Ever Sale promotion, but don't want the huge tall square one that I got upgraded to. I was told that I'd have to pay extra to revert to the non-upgrade one, which doesn't make sense at all. I guess I'll reserve judgement until I actually talk to the bathroom people. Thanks You can ask for the exhaust fan to be ducted externally which I think it's a BCA requirement or add an openable skylight. I added Velux 550x980mm openable skylight. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12776Aug 16, 2015 4:32 pm I can already guess the next question: how much did your velux skylight cost? Eden Brae are quoting us $11k for both...it does not make sense! Why would we go for less protection for the same cost..... I built with EB back on 2009.
