It was bristol, who sold it to me, cause they had none of the oil base in stock, i was in rush to get it done before the tiles were laid, but the tiles are now laid and my DH was put grout all over the walls anyhow Now i have painting on the skirtings which is proving a challange to remove by hand. Undercoat? can i use the wall paint ( as it is lighter in colour) to undercoat, actaully im out of that. Do i need to buy special undercoat paint?? Another trip to the hard ware store tomorrow i see Well, 9 times out of 10, painting in one of the last trades - it's a lot easier to get paint off of tiles than try and remove grout, tile adhesive etc from freshly painted walls! Just because someone doesn't have what you want in stock, it doesn't mean that you have to purchase ''only what they have in stock'' (I don't mean to be blunt), but as you have just experienced, it has come back to bite you... Don't use substitutes, use what is intended for the job. You may have to make a trip down to a paint store (for proper advice) rather than a hardware store so you can avoid getting another 'bump-steer'...
