Re: Beaumont Hills Custom Build - Brick Stage 24Aug 06, 2015 1:10 am caff Hi Ebanster, Are you building with WDC? I only ask because I see Maximus built with them and we too took his advice and signed with them. Your design looks great. Looking forward to seeing the progress. Hi caff, Thanks. Yes I am building with them. Slow progress for the last 2 weeks. I wasn't able to visit the site last weekend but they said that the insulation and roofs are currently in progress. I will meet up with my rear neighbour this Saturday to discuss the fencing. Will share costs with him Re: Beaumont Hills Custom Build - Brick Stage 25Aug 06, 2015 1:13 am firsthome2 Good to hear, I am doing the tiles this Saturday. Kitchen guys are busy and could not make an appointment. I will have to ring them again. I still don't have the warranty insurance, so don't know when I will be ready to start the work though. I did Kitchen and Tiles on the same day. I told them I live an hour away so they tried to squeeze in. Had to go Kitchen early in the morning Have they sent you the 3d design beforehand? Good to get inspiration from magazines, houzz, etc as they will need you to sign-off on the colours. I am doing Electricals now. It is a pain as our communication is only via phone and email. He is available only on weekdays and I am only available on weekends. Re: Beaumont Hills Custom Build - Brick Stage 26Aug 06, 2015 6:46 am Ebanster, That is a pain about electrical because it's something you really need to sit face to face to talk about I think. We tried to fit electrical in today too as we are both taking a leave day to get as much done as possible, but not sure if that is going to happen. I found the tile appt really good, with some great suggestions that we wouldn't have considered. We did that a few weeks, just signing off on that today. Houzz, Pinterest and Homeone have been my hobby for over a year so I have lots of ideas of what we like- I just don't want to choose anything that's an upgrade. Having said that, the inclusions are pretty good so our only upgrade so far in the whole thing has been a fancy kitchen sink tap for about $400 - not too bad. Who would have that I'd be so excited about selecting a kitchen that I'd lose sleep? I suppose waiting 20 months to start will do that:) 11/11/13- dep paid 4/4/14- settlement Feb '15- DA app 6/8/15- CC site works begin 19/8/15- Formwork 25/8/15- slab 3/9/15- elect. appt 13/10/15 - frame started 19/10- bricks started 31/10 - roof done Re: Beaumont Hills Custom Build - Brick Stage 27Aug 06, 2015 10:19 pm Out of interest, what Kitchen, tile and electrical suppliers are you guys using? Costas for electricals. They changed to DGS just before my build as they had issues with their prior kitchen supplier. They had only just started using costas. Avoid the "kocum" intercom/camera system - it is rubbish. Has a terrible user interface. What intercom do you suggest? When you change from what they have included will cost a lot. Did you finalize the tiles in one go, I have my appointment this week. Have bee only on homeone, did not use Houzz or Pintrest. will try them as well, I am very poor with ideas. Did you upgrade the LED lights? do you get the black glass switches for kitchen/bathrooms 18/03/15 Deposit 02/09/15 CDC 22/09/15 Slab 05/12/15 Frames 15/12/15 Brick started. 11/04/16 Roof start 04/05/16 Roof finish 09/07/16 Gyprock. Re: Beaumont Hills Custom Build - Brick Stage 31Aug 06, 2015 11:04 pm The kocum is non-standard ( includes other security cameras other than the door camera ). The interface is really clunky. At some point I would like to change the touch screen on the wall for something that is easy to use. I am not sure what is their standard intercom. I remember in my first meeting they mention about bathroom and kitchen come standard with the black plates, now it is not in the contract, it will be an upgrade if I want it. was their standard LED bright enough and wide angle? 18/03/15 Deposit 02/09/15 CDC 22/09/15 Slab 05/12/15 Frames 15/12/15 Brick started. 11/04/16 Roof start 04/05/16 Roof finish 09/07/16 Gyprock. Very happy with kitchen and tile appointments. Yes, same here. The guy who owned Adorn even told me a trivia about Whites He is a nice guy. I am a bit worried though as I saw a client review in the Productreview website having issues with the tiler Re: Beaumont Hills Custom Build - Brick Stage 35Aug 07, 2015 12:56 am firsthome2 In hindsight, I should have include all what I wanted to, was concerned about the total price, now it will cost even more to add. I supplied my own Intercom. I bought the basic one from Samsung SHT-3605, which I reckon should do the job. The only cost is the wiring and installation to be done by the Electrician. I have G&M Electricals as the supplier, by the way. I asked them to add more power points (including one with USB), and additional wall light provisions. I will source the external lights (up down lights) from Bunnings so I can choose my preferred design. Individually, they didn't cost much but if added together, it cost me more than $2,000 for the electrical upgrades. We haven't had ours yet but have quite a few things to add- Ceiling fans in bedrooms; speakers, fan, heat strips in alfresco plus a few more power points throughout, extra TV points and glass panel light switches for downstairs. Could be costly$$$$ 11/11/13- dep paid 4/4/14- settlement Feb '15- DA app 6/8/15- CC site works begin 19/8/15- Formwork 25/8/15- slab 3/9/15- elect. appt 13/10/15 - frame started 19/10- bricks started 31/10 - roof done Re: Beaumont Hills Custom Build - Brick Stage 37Aug 07, 2015 2:29 pm I had added fans to rooms, living and meals area. the glass panel switches are costly, they did not tell me the price. they provide thing cover as standard, all others are upgrades.
