If it is freestanding bath then taps in the middle wall mounted will reach the bath best (ie at its widest point) and generally cheaper than freestanding taps. Placement should also consider the rest of the design of the bathroom which includes ease of access to the taps. End maybe more suitable for small children/toddlers as it is easier to keep them away from the tap end and bumping their head/ playing with it. The other thing you should consider re friends' opinions - it is your home with your layout and your lifestyle, not theirs. It is your money that you are spending on your dreams, for a place that you will live in and use everyday. You can ask friends and they can be well meaning, however you will likely end up with just as many different opinions, so you are absolutely correct to ask why, which is the key in working out what is best for you & your family. Very considered response. I'm just interested in how others view it. I've got a 3 month old, my first so I'm not all the practised on what works with kids!! I can see little heads and arms bumping taps as they splash around and it's not a big deal for an adult to have them on the end either. I think on the end opposite the hob would be best. Freestanding great for selling houses or if you have a large bathroom where it's in the centre but for kids a hob is best I think! Re: Bath tap placement 4Sep 09, 2015 10:15 am I also feel that taps at the middle of the bath works best. This is because you can easily adjust the water temperature before having a bath (while standing up) and also during your bath without much hassle of moving around. Will they impose onto the bath itself though (therefore reducing your ability to stretch out comfortably?!) or have I only experienced this problem because the bath I used middle taps in was small? This is our bath and its dimensions (1790mm) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Bath tap placement 6Sep 09, 2015 5:01 pm We have a freestanding bath placed under a window and it is at least 20cm off this wall and nothing either end. I have three kids (3,8,10). I have floor bath spout with a hand held attached (great for washing little kids and hair) We can lay either end of our bath. The bath spout can be turned away if it gets in the way but so far this hasn't been an issue. I did have (previous house) a freestanding bath set within a tighter space and between three walls, in a nook. This had a tap in the middle and this was fine as well. If you do go down this path I suggest having the taps/ mixer on the wall closest to where you get in (which we had) so you don't have to lean over the bath to reach the tap (if that makes sense). Also had this set up with young kids and works fine. I guess if the bath is big enough it's ok Hi all, My first post, we are building a house and can’t decide the layout of the lounge room. We have a large N/W facing window and are wanting to have a wood slow… 0 13895 Move your linen into laundry and access laundry from your present linen space 1 8177 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7569 |
