Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 47Jul 19, 2015 2:01 pm twin_dad StructuralBIMGuy Hi Dwayne Love the quality of the pics, looks like they had a few issues in the LH side? Hope it was all resolved. Thanks for posting @structuralBIMGuy, thanks (actually I thought the photos were a bit rubbish). When you say left hand side do you mean of the block or a photo. We have takn up most of the level change in the left hand side (external stairs at a later stage). To keep as much living space on the northern side we have shoved the building as far South as we could (about 1m from the fence). I wasn't aware of any difficulty in the garage pour. Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update. The photo I was refering to has been removed/updated, it appears they started the pour in the trenches and then stopped, That consitutes a cold joint. IMO pours should be stopped at designed control joints. BTW formwork is stripped away, the rebar placement is whats critical. I have speced a full scabbled joint with a hydrotite (or what ever the residential industry equiv. Is) seal and a full waterproof membane. Thanks for that was a bit concerned there was an issue i had not foreseen. Quote: BTW formwork is stripped away, the rebar placement is whats critical. HTH Couldn't agree more, most of my clients spec min 75mm cover to bare earth and 50mm to exposed surfaces and typ. Lap lengths 50% greater than AS3600. Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update. Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 57Jul 21, 2015 10:32 pm Tribe7 Looks great twin dad, does it have to cure for a month? The loading placed on a slab is actually quite minimal during the early stages and usually it will reach half its design capacity within 10 to 14 days. So if you have a 20mpa mix thats about 10 mpa which is 10.2 ton on a 10cm x 10 cm patch. The only potential issue is blow out due to over torqued anchors. Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update. Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 58Jul 21, 2015 10:55 pm Oooh, conslabulations! Fantastic pics of a great looking slab I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35342 6 57610 Sadly no movement on site since soak wells went in. There are also missing/wrong storm water drains which need to be sorted, along with a broken pipe. Plumbing has been… 14 38136 |
