Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Bathroom layout 5Jul 15, 2015 2:27 pm We recently had our old 60's bathroom completely removed, and renovated without a bath tub as the room was too small, only 6 x 8 ft. Put in a large walk in shower & toilet. Our builder suggested a slightly narrower sliding door instead of a normal sized swing door, it has made a big difference & you don't notice it. We also have 2 toilets now and are very happy with the results. Re: Bathroom layout 7Jul 15, 2015 8:08 pm Out of the original options, I think I'd go with #1. Unfortunately, at 2.7m, I don't think there'd be enough room for 2 toilets in the existing toilet space, as it only gives 1.3m each. It would be good to make better use of that oversized toilet space though. At lest with that length, you could put a small basin in the toilet room Re: Bathroom layout 8Jul 18, 2015 9:38 am Create an alcove for the second toilet by taking a metre from the end of the existing toilet. After putting in the new wall there will be a 900mm alcove. Place the new toilet crossways so the cistern is against the right hand wall of the alcove with the bowl facing the shower. Move the bathroom entry door to the left or reverse the opening to allow for the new toilet. If you really want to maximize space, you could use an in-wall cistern with this layout- though they are very pricey. Richard@themakeovergroup Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end. A quick search on… 3 8508 Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6243 You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 16548 |
