I do recommend checking the industry association in your state. That's how I found my designer. They came highly recommended from the association. These include consideration of slope of land, layout of the utility spaces (access to shed, drying area, bins etc (and hiding them away from living areas if possible) and zones for things like kid's play areas, future pool or ponds, outdoor living areas, composting and storage areas etc. Once you know what you want to incorporate you will know how much work is involved and whether you need to hire a professional or not.
