Some problem already with our new home: 1. Clarendon FORGOT to put the slab for our A/C compressor (we package the A/C with them) so we dont have any heater for the next week or so!!!! 2. Our underbench kitchen cabinets are dirty from some sort of paint that they cant clean, so new ones should be installed today 3. Alarm system making warning noise every minute because the battery was flat or something. They will fix it today as well 4. LED downlights start dying one by one (4 so far, hopefully no more) 5. House cleaning is very bad. Our main door looks like being sprayed by muddy water!!! 6. Our 3 lock main door doesnt work! cant even turn the key to lock the door. 7. Garage door cant slide properly because there's a gap or something that need to be fixed. Anyway, we've been in the new house for 3 nights now. mainly we love it, but there are always things that keep on bugging us like the above. Hopefully we can post some pics next week! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8915Jun 29, 2015 11:42 am I think the biggest change for us is going to noise. I used to live in an apartment that near silent.. but, ofcourse there was always something. Then we moved to another almost quiet place but being near the local shopping centre meant that there was also always something.. then we moved to a truly boisterously loud street.. then we moved to the current place which is as quiet as the 2nd place.. almost perfect but always some noise every now and then from traffic or people walking past. At our new place, we have nothing behind us at all, the entire estate is at the end of a road that's only going to used by local residents as it doesn't go anywhere, the road we are on is oriented in such a way that there would be no point going down our road unless you live on that part of it.. easier to just turn down one of the others etc. So we'll basically be living in an almost dead-silent house.. lol.. that's going to take some getting used to. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8917Jun 29, 2015 1:45 pm Andrew- I understand ur frustration 100000% however as I've said before our bricks took 3 months to complete!! We also had no tradies onsite last week or today and our roof / fascia is still incomplete after many promises it would be done last week. Area manager doesn't seem to be doing anything to help speed things up and boy have we complained!! I also have a blog and I also visit the site twice daily. Whilst I've little faith in Clarendon these days and I regret choosing them to build my dream home I often hear similar stories with delays from other building companies. It's mega frustrating and disappointing and I just hope that when all our builds are complete we are all happy with the finished product. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8918Jun 29, 2015 1:50 pm andrew92 To anyone that is considering building with these useless fools. They are the slowest builders on the entire industry and will always have an excuse or some bull **** reason for why something is not right or not happening I have worked in the building industry for over 15 years and I have never seen such a poor amount of communication nor have I seen such a lack of organisation skills they will lie to your face along with try to say it is your problem when it clearly is not so if you are thinking of building with Clarendon I would strongly suggest not to build with them unless you want to be the last one to move into your estate .#worstbuilderever I'm still at the start of my clarendon journey - piering started today... However I have 2 x relatives who have built with Clarendon over the past 3 years, and quite a few relatives and friends in the building trade, quite a few of which have done work for Clarnedon. And they have advised me that Clarendon are actually "one of the good ones" in terms of building issues... So whilst I can completely understand your frustrations (and hope I don't experience the same ones), I don't think it is an accurate picture of them as a whole... I hope you manage to get somewhere with your area manager, and things start going your way.. Hopefully the outside taking so long will mean your inside will fly by... Good luck! So I would more on my build quality as 5 -10 years from now you will really get joy from a good quality build. the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6726 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
