Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6292Jun 23, 2015 9:21 am Hey Guys, Just wondering if you anyone has opted to do their own floors after handover? If so what sort of credit did you get back on it? I am building the Hansen 29 and are wondering if its worth just getting the floorboards done ourselves after handover. And just having them do the carpets? But than at the same time not sure if its worth the trouble of doing it ourselves! And just having them do the carpets? But than at the same time not sure if its worth the trouble of doing it ourselves! I got a price to remove flooring from living areas We had a price to upgrade to cat 1 laminate from the included tiles with our promo which was $850 The price they quoted it would come down by is $4882 That's for the Winslow 35 . Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6294Jun 23, 2015 12:28 pm Oh and the bamboo flooring we are looking at is roughly $7000 Just going off the last time I had it priced for about the same floor space earlier this year . Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6295Jun 23, 2015 1:47 pm Ohh wow so it can make a bit of a difference if you opt to do it after handover. We had chosen a Cat 2a Timber Floor board, just thinking it might make a little bit of a difference to do it ourselves than! Ill bear it in mind! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6296Jun 23, 2015 5:03 pm Hi we had the flooring promo included. We upgraded to Cat 4 timber boards it cost us an extra 7k. But deleted the carpet we will do them after handover. We opted for them to do it because my sister has just built a house through Metricon and they decided to do their own boards after handover and the floors weren't level and cost them an extra 3k out of their own pocket to get them level. So we decided to let Carlisle do our boards and its on them and they have to warranty them too!! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6297Jun 23, 2015 5:52 pm That's a very good point Robert , we decided we would go with the cat 1 and upgrade in a few years time , thinking now that you have said that it's an even better idea as if there is any dramas with levels it will have to be rectified during construction . Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6299Jun 23, 2015 5:56 pm Just a suggestion if you do prefer to do the flooring yourself. If you get an independent inspector, this should be 1 of the things that they check, wouldn't it? So prior to handover this should be caught by the inspector if the floor is not level?
