Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 157Jun 02, 2015 4:29 pm Hi All, Our settlement is booked for the 9th as well. There's generally no need for anyone other than solicitors and banks to be present at settlement. They just let you know after it's been completed. Interesting that you've been given a street number Preetesh. I need to chase up my solicitor to check settlement details so it will be interesting to see if there is s number attached. Has anyone heard how the council approval is going? Donna Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 158Jun 03, 2015 12:30 pm Hi all, we have settlement booked for this Friday as well. I don't think we need to be there at settlement, but I would love to attend if I could. Our solicitor kindly sent us a copy of the DP, which had a list of the lot numbers, street numbers and street names. I would paste a screenshot here, but I don't know how to add pictures. sorry! Hope settlement goes smoothly for everyone! Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 159Jun 03, 2015 9:31 pm Hello guys, As the settlement is just around the corner, our bank NAB makes problems saying that they are not ready for settlement even though we have signed the land loan contract and a meeting with our solicitor and NAB on the 9th has been arranged for settlement. The exact issue is that our land contract was subject to subdivision. As per our solicitor and his provided documents, our lot is registered and transfered from Aurora company to our name. Our solicitor will try his best to handle this issue or misunderstanding with the bank now. I am wondering whether someone else is with NAB and / or has met similar issues with the bank? Thank you, Frank Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 160Jun 04, 2015 8:56 am Oh Frank I'm so sorry to hear that. To be honest we moved away from NAB because we weren't happy. Having said that, our solicitor did try to get the two week period extended to 3 weeks when we first got the contracts because he felt 2 weeks was a bit tight. Rawson declined to amend the clause. However, I would say, don't let it ruin your week. If the bank can't pull it off your solicitor will ask for an extension. Some extra time in the scheme of things at this stage won't make a lot of difference, and I expect if you asked Rawson's solicitor what percentage of the contracts settle on time I dare say it would be far less than 100%. Hopefully NAB will get up to speed soon. Donna So it seems like they just take on a lot of projects to get the cashflow for their own builds.
