Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1169Jun 02, 2015 3:47 am Ardie I love those shutters and sheers forgot to ask about them - when you have time would LOVE to see a pic of your charcoal lustre frames with the white shutters from outside. I should stop looking at your pictures I'm second guessing so many things! Like the travertine on the alfresco (gorgeous) and the bulkhead over the whole area of the kitchen - why didn't I think of that?? Hope you're doing well Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1170Jun 02, 2015 12:23 pm Thanks lovely ladies, you crack me up 😃 mal I'll get you a picture. I do love the shutters. Wasn't sold on the idea, it was hubbys top choice and not inexpensive, but totally worth it I think. I know this forum is helpful and dangerous. So many things I wish I knew or thought of 2 years ago. Our sales guy suggested the kitchen bulkhead. Never would have occurred to us. Look what's happening right now? Must be so exciting to be in your beautiful house! Enjoy setting it all up! I love travertine in the alfreco it really looks awesome as well as the floors throughout! Well done, you have done a really good job. Ps. My boys will also share and I cannot wait to go hunting for a bunk bed so cute! Thanks MIMN. The bunk beds took a while to decide on, so many different styles and not inexpensive. Got ours on sale through bedshed. Got delivery and assembly done. I think my husband and I would have divorced over trying to put that thing together They look great. Total PITA to make the beds! Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1174Jun 03, 2015 4:56 am Wow I am VERY jealous of those wardrobe fit-outs Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1176Jun 03, 2015 11:12 am Our wardrobe "fit outs" are our two tall boys...suited the end-of-build budget (but the drawers can be a pain if we forget to push them in properly!!) would love a real fit out with shelving for SHOES- (hint, hint my darling!) and so easy to keep things tidier!!! Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1177Jun 03, 2015 11:20 am Congratulations on the move Ardie!! Everything looks fab and I love the dark floors! The WIRS look huge, very jealous x Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1178Jun 03, 2015 12:29 pm Oh you lucky thing you!!!! WIR looks awesome and the front entry closed is an awesome idea!!!! Note for my next build... Hahaha, haven't even started with a slab and I am still making mental notes for my next build! Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1179Jun 06, 2015 12:52 am What has my ardie been up too ? Wire looks great going to have fun filling it all up . Still haven't painted mine but no where as big as yours . So not doing anything fancy . I love your dark floors . Enjo would be good for those . Expensive but maybe something to look into Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1180Jun 09, 2015 5:49 pm Hi all. I do love our WIR. It's still far from organised but I can see the potential We are so happy to be in our new home. Still can't believe it really. we've still got so much unpacking and organising to do. Wish we'd been able to take time off and just focus on house stuff, but the timing just wasn't right. A typical conversation goes "where's my 'whatever'?. In the box labelled 'whatevers'. Cool, where's that box? Not sure. Back bedroom, or office, or other bedroom, or garage maybe. " we'll get there. Just so glad to be in and put our awful rental house behind us. We've got quite a long list of things for redink to come fix. A bunch of stuff still from pci that hasn't been done, but we haven't even had 10 minutes to type up a proper list to send over. With the exception of the not fully hooked up HWS, nothing is particularly urgent, just annoying. They did send someone immediately in the evening to fix the HWS. Maybe this afternoon I'll get the list done. Besides our WIR I'm totally in love with our ensuite and the shower. SOOO glad we splurged a bit on the shower head. It's heaven Our paving projects are almost done. Nothing has been sealed yet, but everything except the retaining wall has been laid. CC101 sorry you asked about our front veranda and it's called Timber Dek from Freo Stone. Here are a few pics of our newly laid veranda. I absolutely love how it's turned out. There will be a gate along the bottom and once the landscaping goes in we're going to put some plants (maybe bamboo) in a large rectangular planter at the top, blocking it from the rest of the yard. Also some vertical gardens along the fence so we're not staring at colorbond fencing. It's our grown up quiet area! You can't really tell but with the cool white globes they give off a slightly greenish glow and look really pretty.
