How long, or should I say How short is your double vanity?
Just wondering how long I need to make the cabinets for a double vanity to be comfortable.
If you can.. please post up some pics with your details.
Thanks in Advance

Re: Length Of Your Double Vanity? 12May 08, 2015 5:57 pm I much prefer Option 1. I like that the sinks are nice and close to the toilet, and also like you mentioned, it looks more spacious - less busy than Option 2. Our vanity in our ensuite is a double sink vanity and is 2m, but doesn't get installed until Monday. Seeing it in the workshop for the first time, I thought 'that's huge'. I think 1.8m for a double vanity would be plenty big enough without bumping elbows with anyone. Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74717 Re: Length Of Your Double Vanity? 13May 09, 2015 11:14 am Roomeat Saint Mike Saint Mike Surely it depends on the size of the ensuite Is it double sink ? I like a bit of room either end and more (x 2) in the middle. Also wide enough. I like it to the wall - no little empty bits for dust and dirt to gather. We have good storage under too - eg 4 doors. Our width of ensuite is almost the same as bedroom - which is quite large. But - I'd go as big as ensuite allows - rather than something smaller. Oops - main bathroom ... Why not take bench to wall - near door - what will you use this space for ? Then mirror full length. You could move the sinks along a bit to allow room either side. As well as between. Your referring to Option 1? I DID have it all the way to the wall but the problem with that is that the basin is then brought closer to the door. If you were standing in front of that basin and someone opened the door.. you would be wiped out lol. Being the main "family" bath upstairs it's probably not that much of a issue but might be a bit yuk for anyone looking at it if we were to ever sell. Yes - you'd need a rule - only use basin near shower. But - would look good if and when you sold. Mirror full length would add to "size". Re: Length Of Your Double Vanity? 14May 09, 2015 1:44 pm I'd say go option 1, but remove the door completely, and instead put a door between the basin area and the shower/bath area. See that's what forums are for.. someone will always see outside the square lol i LOVE this idea.. but it does cause some issues in itself.. like nowhere convenient to put a towel rail if the wall continues across for a door. Re: Length Of Your Double Vanity? 16May 13, 2015 2:37 pm the other suggestion for option 1 is to use a cavity sliding door instead of an opening door. In our build, we have opted for a single basin with more bench space and the vanity is 2.1 long. Our previous home had double basins in 1.8 long vanity and there was not enough bench space.
