Re: Need Help With Theatre Design. Updated Ideas 13May 02, 2015 12:29 pm Hi Mark, Yeah it is just a mockup lol. I have the cabinets set to 450mm deep on sides and top with the middle section below the screen set at 600mm. I was thinking of hanging some pictures on the wall (In between the wall lights) with maybe some "egg crate" foam fitted in to the back of them? I can see that I am going to have to get the builder to complete this room for hand over, then pretty much gut it completely to re-fit with the products I want lol Cheers, Paul (& Lisa) Parkhill 36 by ClarendonHomes in Coomera Retreat H1 Build Thread And Blog Building Blogs List - Go Ahead And Add Yours!! Re: Need Help With Theatre Design. Updated Ideas 14May 02, 2015 2:24 pm Well get them to use sound check gyprock instead of plaster. It cost me about 1k to do the entire room. I would be wary of hollow structures as they can produce rattles. Check out Krix phonix as they mount flush against the wal. That will allow easy placement if you want a scope screen. Pay for the builder to do the plaster in sound check. Will make it less stressfull. Re: Need Help With Theatre Design. Updated Ideas 15May 02, 2015 2:50 pm Having the door open outwards from the room, the first step at the door way, so you can step up on to your riser from the door. Updated Ideas 16May 03, 2015 3:08 pm I like option 2. The left door would bolt in to the door frame when not needed and the right door being the main access. The wall scones will look nice when complete (with dimming). Not going for the projector option? Updated Ideas 17May 03, 2015 3:15 pm I had originally opted for sconces but decided it would be busy with side speakers and all. Opted for a vaulted ceiling with led light trough and dimmable starlights in the bulk head. If the room was bigger I would use sconces but not sure they are needed. Light trough was pretty expensive I guess its because its labour intensive. Re: Need Help With Theatre Design. Updated Ideas 18May 03, 2015 5:10 pm Yeah they may be changed in my design as well Mark. I want a Picture Rail around the room with some sort of Black / Dark wall paper. Maybe a "Block" inspired seagrass? With acoustic panels above. Maybe I can incorporate some lighting into the Picture Rail?
