Almost getting there! How much did you paid your building inspector? If you dont mind me asking. We are thinking of doing this for pci. But not sure who to go to. Would love to hear your experience regarding getting your own, prices and conditions etc. thank you x Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73578 We paid $500 I believe (I didn't pay, partner did but were originally advised $450), I will PM you the finer details! We didn't actually search for any, my partner's work colleague recommended the ones we went through and he was also able to show us the inspector report - which was why we ended up going with them, as it was good to see what you were paying for! We also intend to do it at PCI as well, we thought bricks were also important as we have no clue about trades and we feel super reassured to see very few "errors". So worth the money if it helps you sleep easy! Re: Building our first home in (Trinity) Alkimos, WA. 37Apr 29, 2015 5:42 am Rory if you don't mind I'd love to have the details too please I've just sent off for 3 quotes for inspections! So very timely Your brickwork looks very neat and yay for roof timbers - so happy things are moving along nicely for you!! Re: Building our first home in (Trinity) Alkimos, WA. 38May 03, 2015 9:49 pm We are yet to resolve our brick issue, hopefully hear from them tomorrow or I will be forced to call. BUT in other news our build has continue to push on! They started our roof timbers immediately after brickwork and have finished the timbers and our weatherboard roof features as of Thursday. It looks awesome to see the scale of everything and our front facade come together. We have also had the trades begin to "carve" our bricks out for our sockets and light switches as well. Pretty interesting to see where they ended up and if we made the right choices about locations! Guess we'll have to wait until we move in to know for sure. We've been told our roof will be on by Thursday so I'll save my next round of pictures for then. Fingers crossed it goes up! Re: Building our first home in (Trinity) Alkimos, WA. 39May 04, 2015 3:56 am Looking forward to the roof pics And thanks for the info! Re: Building our first home in (Trinity) Alkimos, WA. 40May 14, 2015 7:59 pm We have a roof! Was a few days later than we thought (as we misread what we were told), but ended up being earlier than it should've been so happy all around! It looks AMAZING. It's just so nice to see everything finally come together as well, and to be like "yup, right choice in colours" for everything externally. We still have to wait for a few things (like weatherboard paint etc), but very pleased with the outside of the house so far.
