The three months from settlement to build commencing were partly Christmas/New Years, then waiting for council/private certifier approval, then a flurry of last-minute changes (some from me, some from Plantation). Once they confirmed they had everything in order, it was 2 weeks to start. I never felt like any stage was unreasonable really, but I'd just seen a friend go through the same thing, so maybe I had pretty realistic expectations. My pre-site admin at Plantation was really good and kept me informed the whole way. The slab was laid on the 28th March. Delays were due to: 3 months waiting for fully correct drawings to send to council 1 of 5 council applications was missed by builder 3 weeks while neighbours were notified of building envelope change 3 weeks while the council stuffed up and delayed things 3 weeks waiting for earthworker to be available having missed his earlier availability because of the above Been in a similar position and we decided to let the builder go.
