Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank?

Furthermore, i have been in contact with Ernest Dupere (Owner of the Marina development) - The Marina (which was initially approved) has now been rejected by the courts because the guy who wants to build the Recycling Plant took Ernest to court on a technicality and he won - which now means without a marina it is more likely the Recycling Plant will get approved. So please this is very important that we take this petition seriously and get every number possible - we need the number to be in the Thousands if possible (so if you have any pets, get them to sign it too)....... once i feel we have a sufficient number i will be organising a meeting with our local member Melanie Gibbons and the new Planning Minister who will be announced this week. Once this is done, it will be all over 2GB and hopefully with a few more connections back on channel 9 and channel 7. If anyone out there wants to be involved or feels they have more knowledge regarding this situation please contact me and im more than happy to have someone come along with me and give me all the help i can get - because to be honest i dont know much all i know is i dont this plant near my kids and im lucky enough to know someone with a bit of influence.

Johnno78.... Hey mate this last appeal cost Ernest 300k, he has pumped millions of dollars into this marina so far, he is re-submitting in 4 weeks. We need this coward who has no conscious to disappear.

Yeah I couldn't imagine it would be cheap. You would think possibly Liverpool Council or the developers of the golf course would help him out. Pretty sure a Marina would be an asset to the Council and would also push prices up for the developers.

Mate, you couldn't be more right, but unfortunately its a battle he is fighting on his own - which is why we need to help him - we have had a fantastic start to the petition with over 50 signatures - but we do need many more - so i urge everyone to back this. I have spoken to a few people in government this morning - and i have been advised we can win this - but only if the whole community is on board. So we need to fight for our Neighbourhood.

Uiquesyd-gf - Thats Great , lets all remember that anyone can sign the petition not only residents.

hor8737 - your dedication is appreciated by all - i will be doing the same, im currently organising pamphlets so i can pass around the whole estate to ensure we catch everyone including the ones who dont have access to this forum.

signatures have reached into the 60's well done guys......

ps: im glad i own my own business because the last few days ive hardly done any work.. hahah

If Liverpool Council are against the recycling plant I wonder if they would send this petition or similar out as part of that Liverpool listens (what they used for the name change interest) thing they do? That could be a fair size mailing list as its for issues that affect all of Liverpool.

On a side note, has anyone got a recommendation for a landscaper?

Hi Guys, Im currently building at Georges Fair and just read this forum that the Marina has lost the case.
Me and my wife have just signed the petition.

Can't believe that the courts can't see why Marina is a better investment for this community compared to a #$#$#$*&* Recycling unit.

Congrats to Liverpool council rangers getting their priorities straight. Giving tickets (warning at this stage) for 'not parking parallel in direction of travel', in a narrow st that is only used by residents. I would think people parking across driveways/pathways, illegal dumping of rubbish or cars driving down Brickmakers Drive like its a Formula 1 track would be more of a concern for GF.

Im also currently building in Travers St, i am printing the pamphlets tomorrow, i could use all the help i can get. I have a meeting with an MP next week, i have been advised i at least need to get the signatures up to 1000, now i know its been a good effort from the ones who have signed but unfortunately its not enough..
