Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Mar 29, 2015 1:51 pm hi all, we are currently at prestart phase with ventura and having a tricky time with lighting options/limitations. We are building a two storey and because of the concrete slab really need to nail the lighting for downstairs. In the entrance hall we would like to be a stacked stone feature after the build and we are trying to position a light above it. Ventura can put a bayonet light above it which they say we can change later. They don't seem to be able to tell us if we could then change that later for a feature light or perhaps even a strip light to go above the stacked wall. But if you put a bayonet light with a casing how easy it will it be to change that later given they have told us that it would be difficult because the slab for the double storey restricts entry into the ceiling later to do our own wiring (getting a sparky to do it obviously). other options are we put a junction box up there or we simply get them to put a downlight above it and be done with it... Re: First floor lighting conundrum 2Mar 30, 2015 10:23 am First of all - to me - 'first floor' means upper floor. I assume we are talking ground floor if the issue is the slab of the floor above. Are you getting a skim coat (no ceiling, just the underside of the concrete) or a ceiling (Plasterboard) finish to the ground floor ceiling?
