I think I'm going to have to start researching creative landscaping. There's someone that built the same house as is in 2013 and they had the drop in the side so I think from what theirs looks like I can live with it. Im just disappointed that we can't have what we want. I'd rather we knew about it before we signed the contract though. I got the spiel of DEB requirement differs from block to block etc etc But I just wonder why it wasn't picked up before! Oh well I just want to get to handover and be done with M Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4229Mar 27, 2015 11:42 pm Katie - We upgraded to 18kw and added another 2 zones making 4 zones all up. I think most of us have been caught out thinking that the skirts in the house would be painted white as standard but M need to bleed us dry with added extra costs! We did get a quote for white skirts but changed it to timber stained ones after seeing Pikey's. We didn't realise M offered it as they're usually secretive with a lot of their options. What's MyAir? Wow 7 or 8 zones is a lot but I suppose it would be more useful than having only a couple. MGardz - Oh dear… I could see your red faced emoticons first and knew something was up. Don't believe everything M says as others have said, they could just be taking the easy way out. Our SS said we had to have shower doors in our showers to meet occupancy (due to regulations?) but hubby spoke to a plumber last week who said it's best that way but you don't have to have doors if you don't want to. Callie - Cool, a slab shiraz1 - Congrats Dee130614 - LOL you made me laugh regarding your acceptance speech, otherwise waiting a year for validation and still slugging you with a fee is no laughing matter. Hang in there, hopefully things will improve. Hubby spoke to our SS on Friday morning and... - Bricks were completed either 25/3/2015 or 26/3/2015 (he said that they were finished so we're deducing the date completed). Took about 7 weeks all up but SS is very happy with the work done. - Carpenter will be going Saturday to prep the roof for the tiling. - Roof tiles will take about 2 days and they should start on Wed or Thurs next week, just before easter. - After easter the eaves should be up then scaffolding comes down and they'll clean the bricks. - They'll start on the inside of the house starting from the top and working their way down. - SS has no issues with us doing our timber flooring before handover which is really good. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4230Mar 28, 2015 6:39 am Thats great Shiraz we are on day 16 no letter no work looks like they won't make the 20 days shiraz1 HI Everyone, We have finally recieved our construction letter from Masterton informing us who our construction coordinator and site supervisor were....happy days. We did look at the block today but alas still no progress. We did however see a temporary tap had been placed on the block, is this normal? Is it the certifier???? No idea who they are....... I came past and saw the M car out the front and thought it might be the SS, so I popped in. He just said that he was from M and doing an inspection. But he was there to make things right/better, so I was happy! Surprise #1 a variation of $5,000 allowance for rock/shale - the only 'rock' i've ever found is sandstone which in my limited experience isn't going to slow down a digger much. I'm going to want to see any rock they hit before I let them draw on that allowance at all. Surprise #2 - the facade on the plans is different to the one on our tender. Hmm I wonder if I don't say anything do I get the facade on the plans??? Having the benefit of all the experience of the fine people here I'm now going to check all the measurements on the plans; the wide-eyed first time builder in me expects a professional builder to all be correct with the plans, the cynical 'no-one cares as much about your build as you' realist in me is going to have to nut through all of the drawings to work out what's going on. I'm reading all your posts on your progress with a mixture of excitement and fear! The journey continues...
