Re: 20mm or 40mm Stone? 2Mar 17, 2015 1:58 pm All CaesarStone 40mm tops are laminated, no such thing as solid 40mm!!! It really depends on the size of your kitchen but it sounds a little pricey to me! Ideally the lamination should be complete wherever it will be visible such as under a breakfast bar or in the internal face of a waterfall edge. It would be best to speak to your builder to confirm that the fabrication will meet your expectations. Re: 20mm or 40mm Stone? 4Mar 18, 2015 8:30 am What you have to take into account that just the waterfall ends will probably require an extra slab just for them and also the extra work involved for manufacture and installation of waterfall ends tends to boost the price a lot. Some kitchen companies are making the end panels on islands return the 900 deep and than returning back to bar panel to give a section of 50mm thick look at the back of the island. So the panel from the front is 18mm as all panels but when you look at the back of island the panel looks 50mm wide given the same look as waterfall end, sorry if my explanation is confusing. Not sure if cost much diff but i would imagine a wtaerfall end out of door material would be cheaper than stone but still looks very nice.
