Re: polishing concrete - heaps of questions! 31Feb 24, 2015 6:55 pm Hello - sorry to ask a question on someone else's thread. But I was wondering anyone knew what Perth Builders allow polished concrete flooring? We have asked Summit and Dale Alcock. Summit came back with a flat no. And dale Alcock said we can do it post handover. Anyone else done it using these builders? I don't believe it is something that can be done post handover?.. Re: polishing concrete - heaps of questions! 32Feb 24, 2015 9:33 pm It is possible but difficult, time consuming and expensive.. and so much easier if the grinding and polishing is done before a wall is considered. Then cover and fix if need be after handover PS the grinding and polishing begins 3 days after the concrete has been placed and on a large job of over 250sq mtrs 10days to finish the polishing stage and this also gives the builder a flat, level edge to build off... no packers. Hi Ajoncs, From my experience its up to the builder and they may or may not be comfortable with it. If you really want it, then I suggest finding a builder that will work with you to have this done. On the other note - you can arrange the builder to do it themselves - may work out more expensive though. I will ask around other builders - or I may press Summit and Dale Alcock, as we really really want it. Thanks again... If anyone has had it done, I'd love to know who you are building with Re: polishing concrete - heaps of questions! 35Feb 27, 2015 10:22 am M3 Residential is who I am building with and they were willing to quote me to do it themselves. Also they may have come around to me having it done externally. Re: polishing concrete - heaps of questions! 40Feb 27, 2015 3:42 pm ajoncs If anyone has had it done, I'd love to know who you are building with We are in the process of building with Aspireon Homes and we're having polished concrete flooring. We upgraded our slab and mesh to the specification recommended by the polisher. Our first grind was completed before our bricks were delivered and the area has been 'grouted' over for protection.
