Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 122Feb 16, 2015 11:20 pm Hi Vines. Good news about PCI....wahoo 4-6 weeks....you getting excited now? How did everything go with Scott? You happy with everything? I've got my tile mtg with him next wed (25th). Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 123Feb 16, 2015 11:41 pm I'm trying to save my excitement until it's actually ready. That way I can't be disappointed haha Scott was fine. A lot of the stuff isn't his fault so feel bad for the guy. You've really caught up with us now, I can't believe your tile meeting is next week! Although Scott said its more of a lock up meeting than a tile meeting which is good, means we get to ask lots of questions. We did our rear landscape design today. I think I'm more looking forward to seeing the finished landscaping than the house haha. Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 124Feb 17, 2015 11:49 am Aw I know how you feel.....a little bit cautious about getting too excited but I bet you will....because your house is looking great from what I've seen. It's going to look awesome when it's done!! Can't wait to see your finishes.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you this week Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 125Feb 17, 2015 12:53 pm That's good to hear. They haven't been bad really, compared to the troubles other people are having. I just wish their customer service from the office was better I'll put some photos up next week once there's been some tiling progress Did you ever get your bulkhead problem sorted out? Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 126Feb 17, 2015 1:58 pm We had a list of defects ready to discuss at the lockup/tile meeting so that our SS could start fixing things already without having to leave things till PCI. If you can get in before hand and get a list together it is a good thing. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 127Feb 17, 2015 4:11 pm VinesBuild Did you ever get your bulkhead problem sorted out? No unfortunately we have had to accept Avelings mistake with no compensation whatsoever. It's still very disappointing but we had no choice at the end of the day otherwise our build would have stalled. We either kept fighting it or carry on with the build. Aveling won! I'm trying to just get on with the build now but yep it still annoys me big time! Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 128Feb 17, 2015 5:16 pm That's very disappointing tm, I thought they would've at least compensated you in some way. I hope you can still like the house and hopefully the annoyance of it will ease over time. I agree Burns, we've met the SS twice over the last couple of weeks so we've been pointing out a few things. To be fair, there's not that many defects so far. I hope it continues like this! Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI in 4-6 weeks 130Feb 27, 2015 3:49 pm Messaged you! I was at the house this morning. Not impressed Everything is taking so long and I was told the range hood is too big so the cabinets need to be redone and apparently the gas line wasn't put in. Our alarm system was also missed You'll be in before us tmwoburn! I'm really fed up now. Oh, and the icing on the cake was when I was told that the Aveling house around the corner from us is a 'custom' so they get consulted on every little thing, theirs also started after ours and has now caught up. Maybe I'm being cynical but I get the feeling those who pay more get the better service. I'm lucky if I get an email once a fortnight, and even then it's a generic one As you can see, I'm fed up today Contract is up in 2 weeks... Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI end of March?? 132Feb 27, 2015 6:57 pm Thanks Vines got pm. Aw that really is bad you're having these kind of issues at this stage of the build. What does Scott say? I hope you are demanding answers from him. I very rarely get or email the Aveling office anymore but who is your Construction Liaison is it Chr.... (team leader)? Because out of all of them she seems to get things moving. I'm not sure we've caught you up yet we're still waiting for dates. We're doing a lot after the build so maybe it's a little quicker for us. I'm still not counting my chickens yet! From your pictures so far I really like your choices and it looks lovely. I hope once you're finished these last few weeks will all be a distant memory. But keep kicking their butts!!! Chin up it won't be long now Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI end of March?? 133Feb 27, 2015 7:06 pm I very rarely get updates, and when I do they are very generic and don't answer any of the issues. My CLO is S... but I've now started asking for Chr... because she seems more switched on. Although I left a message her to call me around lunch time and she never did. Supervisor doesn't have much to say, just blames trades for letting him down. Which might be true, but I get the feeling that they aren't even trying to speed things up. I'd be less peed off if I could see they were trying. No trades on site today. We're also doing lots after the build. We are doing the drive, painting, flooring, air con etc. There really isn't much to do if they pull their finger out. On a happier note, my Dulux consultation went really well and I feel much better about my colour choices. Just need to finalise blinds and curtains now! Has your tiler started yet tm? Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI end of March?? 134Feb 27, 2015 8:02 pm Since Chr... things have improved. She will push SS along.
My hubby popped in this morning to check out the house and the tiler was there bricking the bath. So I'm assuming tiling will start straight after waterproofing....see, you are well ahead of us!! haha. Great you've got Dulux consult, that's definitely something I haven't chosen yet. I'm just sending pm to you too. Best of luck next week......keep pushing them!! Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI end of March?? 135Mar 05, 2015 2:08 pm PCI is Friday 13th March! So much to organise, why can't they give more notice! At least I have a date and can sort my life out now Not long until it'll all be over and I can relax Re: Aveling Build NOR - PCI end of March?? 136Mar 05, 2015 2:59 pm VinesBuild PCI is Friday 13th March!
