Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Insulation 844Feb 16, 2015 8:42 pm deluded builders sent me a notice for extension of time claim .. so lost a week. I hate getting those letters. I think they can't send me them anymore now that there is a roof on the house! But I swear there are about 9 weeks just in those alone Quote: sitting waiting for bricks to commence, saw tradies on property today but no idea what they were doing. when I drove past around 2pm they were just sitting inside the house on their phones I'm sure they were doing something or at least assigned to go to site to do something. Half the time the deliveries are creating havoc! Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Insulation 845Feb 16, 2015 8:49 pm they were there since the morning ... but I will know soon enough meeting the surveyors in the morning and trimming a murraya while I'm at it Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Insulation 846Feb 16, 2015 10:03 pm yvonneh forgot to mention that I am looking forward to being able to buy things again... although we'll be broke from things like landscaping and driveways. Neither of us had satisfactory birthdays in the last 12 months as we felt like we couldn't buy anything tangible. Me too! I haven't had a haircut or been clothes shopping for at least 6 months. I'm also waiting to claim my Christmas present, which is a lighting fixture of my choice for the laundry! A bit weird, but whatever! My next birthday present will also be a lighting fixture, not sure where yet though. Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 847Feb 16, 2015 10:07 pm I've banked up a few crockery items for gifts now Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 849Feb 16, 2015 10:59 pm I've already forgotten what I have now .. all in storage somewhere. the mountains of clothing stored away due to the lack of space while the build goes on... (at least I won't need to buy clothing even if they look a little outdated ) then there's all the washing before putting them all back in wardrobes and drawers .. the list goes on i suppose Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 850Feb 17, 2015 5:10 am deluded I've already forgotten what I have now .. all in storage somewhere. the mountains of clothing stored away due to the lack of space while the build goes on... You're getting way ahead of us now Yvonne. You're getting way ahead of us now Yvonne. Here's hoping the pace continues! I had dreams that maybe we could be finished before Easter! How awesome would that be?!?! OK I'm going to get off my cloud just in case I get my hopes up too much! Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 854Feb 17, 2015 8:25 am Wow, that room is huge! The place looks even bigger with the plasterboard in! i hope you are planning on getting a robot vacuum cleaner or a maid or something along those lines Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 856Feb 17, 2015 11:20 am I've tried a (admittedly cheap!) robot cleaner and wasn't a fan. What I'm thinking of getting are a few of these instead: http://www.japantrendshop.com/mocoro-ro ... -1611.html Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 857Feb 17, 2015 11:21 am btw if there are maids to be had please send them my way (except I suppose I have that now with my MIL... she's so good in that way!) Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 858Feb 17, 2015 11:27 am holy crap that is awesome! Does it just roll around randomly? that would be perfect for hard floors! How far away is your MIL going to be when you move? you can always invite her over often Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 859Feb 17, 2015 11:30 am It was either that mocoro thing or swiffer feet attachments for my dog (and slippers for us). Talk about daggy ;P (the mocoro at least is cute! and I am getting it way cheaper than what that post had. Planning to get 3 of them - PM me if you want to get a couple I think I can sort out a few more)
Yeah my MIL isn't that far. Don't suppose she can come over when we're not there? (yikes that sounds as mean as I thought it did in my mind) EDIT: yes I think it just rolls around randomly! Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Gyprock / plasterboard 860Feb 17, 2015 12:07 pm Oh oh pm me please, I want to know how much it is My kids will love watching it roll around, ha and the dogs will go ballistic but i won't of course let them near it! We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37142 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19096 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13443 |
