My kitchen has a similar space above the kitchen cupboards and a lowered roof: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm currently having white for everything, could I do something like the above and would it look ok if it was the only feature area/wall? Custom build! Re: Feature wall, but not really a full wall 2Nov 20, 2008 9:15 pm I think the space above your cupboards looks a lot smaller so it might look a little odd to have a small strip that's a different colour.
At what point would you cut it off on the edge as well? It looks like their colour stops at the end of the room whereas your kitchen wall seems to join in with another room... If that makes sense Re: Feature wall, but not really a full wall 4Nov 20, 2008 9:20 pm donuts I like it when the splashback colour is brought up above the cupboards and on the whole wall as a feature wall. But that is totally different to your idea! I'm having large white tiles for my splashbacks Re: Feature wall, but not really a full wall 5Nov 20, 2008 9:23 pm bev I think the space above your cupboards looks a lot smaller so it might look a little odd to have a small strip that's a different colour. If that makes sense Understand what you are saying. It is joined onto the lounge room. What if I did the lowered roof bit as well? Or/And stopped the colour where the roof goes back to normal? and went down the wall next to the cupboards and down along the bench? Ps.... that isn't my exact kitchen its pretty close, I'm not having the raised bench bit, I cut that off so I have a level bench. Re: Feature wall, but not really a full wall 7Nov 21, 2008 9:45 am can i ask why you dont have a bulkhead on the top of the cupboards,? it is a really small space. if you have a bulkhead you wont have to keep dusting the top of the cupboards.
I know that on top of my cupboards above the rangehood it even gets greasy (yuk). Don't know if it has something to do with the lowered roof bit?? Custom build!
