You can still get Clarendon to run the coaxial cables, or everything can be done post handover. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4483Feb 09, 2015 12:41 pm nopeeee far from it... we are having the fascia done and lower roof this week n next...n hopefully in march they start internals...i dont know anymore...why would it take this long is beyond me! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4484Feb 09, 2015 12:54 pm CocoBrisbane Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Slab was laid last week but I can't get in there to see it. My home (weird to say that!) is set back about 20m from the road (not a battle axe but odd shaped block which is narrow at front and widens from centre onwards) and the construction front fence is chained with a bike lock and have neighbours surrounding. I don't want to annoy the SS but it would be nice to check it out and take the obligatory pic on the slab. Yabba what changes did you make through SS? We added a niche to the wall near our freestanding bath in the ensuite, in the theatre there was quite a large void space where pipes were supposed to run through from upstairs, but they pipe was right in the corner so the void was a waste of space, so we asked SS to recess the wall, in our dining room again a pipe was supposed to run down from upstairs and would have needed to be boxed in, but the plumber didn't use it so we asked SS to cap it so we don't have to have a weird corner in our dining room. We also dealt directly with the data cabler and electrician to add in extras. We were going to get our upstairs electrical done after handover, but don't need to now Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4485Feb 09, 2015 1:07 pm rmjose18 why would it take this long is beyond me! You don't know? Well, you haven't had your turn pulling out your hair like some ....that's why!! Your turn........ What was it....8 weeks for the brickies to show up. Lol Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4487Feb 09, 2015 2:09 pm rmjose18 LOL dave... pisss offf Lol lol lol lol. ...... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4489Feb 09, 2015 4:09 pm Yeah.. really hoping we can work direct with some of the tradies too.. one instance for the path at front and another to get another section of smart cabling to the front room.. if we can't then that's fine too.. but after all was said and done my wife turned around and declared that she wanted another data point in the front room.. *sigh*.. Definitely don't want to pay the admin fee for a single data point! Now the roof and fascia... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4492Feb 09, 2015 5:37 pm Hi All, Nice to see everyone's build is finally moving!! Just want to find out from people who are getting their flooring done post handover - what are you doing with skirting? I have been told there are two options - get fully installed or get it uncut, unpainted. I'm getting bamboo flooring and all the vendors have told me to ask the builder to tack it on or not fully install it...well Clarendon don't offer this option atleast this is what I've been told. Any ideas? APS Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4493Feb 09, 2015 6:29 pm I'm in the same boat. So I've found a company that will take them off and re install the skirtings. I'll just have to touch up the paint. I asked clarendon the same as you and were told they wouldn't tack it on so I rather get them to do it then the flooring company will take it off and put it back on Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4494Feb 09, 2015 6:35 pm So I am assuming then that neither of you are having scotia installed as part of your flooring? Scotia is like a skirting board for these types of floors and in my opinion looks far better than a skirting board: Here's a pic of skirting and scotia together.. I guess it creates a different look than just scotia.. but I prefer the look of the scotia right up against the wall with no skirting board. We have ARC Bamboo floors in our apartment, which we installed when we bought the place. We have the scotia installed and it just looks "right". So the skirting will be installed by Clarendon after the floors are installed. $395 Fixed Priced Landscape Plans for DA M: 0435 127 244 | W: bluegumdesign.com.au | E: info@bluegumdesign.com.au Residential | Commercial | Industrial Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4498Feb 09, 2015 6:55 pm Jayjay84 I'm guessing that's if u do flooring with clarendon?? With regards to scotia (or any other beading), sometimes its a necessity. In a new house, you may argue that the skirting can be taklen off and then installed over the floating floor. Tiles go right upto the wall, because there is no expansion/contraction. Timer/bamboo/laminate on the other hand does not go all the way to the walls. You have to leave some gap because it expands/contracts (hence the name floating floorboards). To cover that gap, its necessary to cover it, and scotia is a popular choice. of course, if you can rip the beading off and then install it over the gap, well and good ! the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6690 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 7822 Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess.
