Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design Re: What is the best approach at landscaping? 5Jan 30, 2015 11:43 am Generally you want a landscape plan in place before proceeding. A good landscape designer will be able to put together a plan based upon what you want/need and wish for, all within your determined budget. Once a plan is in place, it will be easier to get comparable quotes from subcontractors (landscapers) PM me if you have any specific questions. Thanks Re: What is the best approach at landscaping? 6Feb 03, 2015 4:35 pm Hi all, I'm in the process of getting our place organised and we seriously need a landscape design before we do anything outdoors, can anyone recommend a good landscape designer in Melbourne? I'm in the south eastern suburbs - Build thread- My Allegra- Dream by Henley Re: What is the best approach at landscaping? 7Feb 06, 2015 10:19 am I got a plan first. I decided to go with my landscaper for installation but it's not expected. Re: What is the best approach at landscaping? 10Jun 26, 2015 9:02 am Landscape plans arnt always necessary. Its all dependant on complexity of project, scope of project and if permits etc are required. For some, a simple out of scale concept plan is sufficient. More complex an inscale plan with cross sectional detail may be required. As a guide we offer design for a fee. This design / plan can be built by anyone inc. other landscapers. If you choose to proceed with us some if not all of the design fee is refunded dependant on size of project. Check with your local landscape industry association for designers etc in your area. Thanks Davinci - but it seems that you are from Victoria while I am from Perth. However can I still send my plans to you? Re: What is the best approach at landscaping? 13Jul 09, 2015 4:31 pm I live in country Vic and went through a company called Timandra. I do recommend checking the industry association in your state. That's how I found my designer. They came highly recommended from the association. Re: What is the best approach at landscaping? 14Aug 01, 2015 12:37 pm There are free landscaping guidelines and drawing programs on line to help you nut out a basic plan. These include consideration of slope of land, layout of the utility spaces (access to shed, drying area, bins etc (and hiding them away from living areas if possible) and zones for things like kid's play areas, future pool or ponds, outdoor living areas, composting and storage areas etc. Once you know what you want to incorporate you will know how much work is involved and whether you need to hire a professional or not.
