This is not really a question for this thread. Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 848Jan 18, 2015 1:38 pm sharata Do anyone here know what the cost is of the conveyancer? We used Andrew from glenferrie conveyancing. He is very straight forward and really knows his stuff. No BS fees or you will need this and this... He also works 7 days a week 8am to 8pm. Very handy when you need some questions after hours! We paid about $500. http://www.glenferrieconveyancing.com.au/ Cheers Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 851Jan 25, 2015 5:37 pm We are still very early stages - just had our plans drawn up. They flipped the original plan to fit on our block so the alfresco is north east. When they did this it changed the way our sliding doors open. Lucky I picked up on the tiny drawing that our laundry door opens where our dryer will be, so we would have to climb over our dryer to get out the door lol. My tip would be to check what way your doors slide open. Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 852Jan 26, 2015 4:14 pm Good pick up Pink86. There is so much to be aware of its near impossible for the untrained eye. Where are you building? Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 853Jan 26, 2015 4:18 pm Folks please remain on topic. I have split off a bunch of posts unrelated to this thread into a new topic. If you have an unrelated question please create a new topic rather than posting in this this one. Continuing to post off topic posts when having been advised as such may result in your posts being deleted without warning. Thanks. Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Handover completed 27/09/2013 and now moved in. Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 854Jan 30, 2015 3:02 pm Thanks so much for putting this list together, it's so helpful for people like me who are just starting the build process! Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 855Jan 30, 2015 6:01 pm jewel47 Hello All, We just went through our colour selection and I wondering if anyone had suggestions on things to look out for before contract. You know the little things that you forget. For instance, our sales consultant forgot to give us an electrical plan! We tried to review the plan and add in lights in areas where the standard lighting wouldn't be enough. But what about powerpoints? I read someone talking about meters before. Should I be looking at the meter box? You don't know what you don't know. And we don't know what we may have overlooked. So anything that you later had to add or change? Thanks! Jewel I forgot the vanity light locations for the main bathroom and two for the double vanity in ensuite. I will put it on my to do list after handover. They will have to go above mirrors. Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 857Feb 03, 2015 7:39 pm Hi All, First of all thanks all for this Thread !! One of the most useful things around... I have seen this been mentioned quite a few times now and thought I'll ask WHY.. Why do you need a gas point in the Alfresco ? is it just for the BBQ ? but will it not work with cylinders anyway ? is that the sole purpose of having a Gas point in Alfresco or there is something more I'm missing out on ? Thanks heaps for your reply in advance Build thread of our Monaco Lux Q1 - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76750 Update: Handover - 2 Sep Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 859Feb 03, 2015 8:00 pm Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but shelves in the bathroom for shampoo, etc. Easy enough to install later, but might void your water proofing if you're not careful. I forgot about this, but remembered just before the framing stage. I opted for a shower niche in each bathroom, looks great and no worries about water proofing or scum build up around the shelving where it joins to the wall Dale - Building Newbie Proserpine, QLD Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 860Feb 03, 2015 9:28 pm Crazyk I suppose some people don't like to change bottles. From a payback perspective I bottles are cheaper, with my builder anyway. I would never get payback on $1600 Yeah that's the point !! My builder is asking $1000 which is way too expensive for just BBQ. Has anyone got any other useful ideas for gas point in the Alfresco ??
