It was originally approved a long time ago (circa 2000) by Liverpool Council for large expansion. At that time GF didn't exist and was the Boral brick pit complete with water and swans. Fast forward 14 years and Liverpool council is no against it, 1000 houses now exist (or shortly will) where the brick pit was and the recycling mob have been refused permission to go ahead with large expansion plans. The last appeal was through the Land and Environmental court and many of us made submissions against it and I heard nothing back - but then have moved since then so maybe the reason. The fools running the recycling plant have very deep pockets and can just keep causing trouble with appeals for years to come it would seem. It appears to be irrelevant to them that there are families living here now and no-one wants their asbestos and silica fibres spewed all over them (there is no system in place to eliminate these materials from getting into the plant for recycling). All I can advise is to keep on top of it and send off letters against to it to anyone who'll listen - Council, local Member for Parliament and State Member for Parliament. This guy will just keep going because he can so we can't let him. Secondary to the large pollution from the recycling plant is that he plans to have the plant accessed via Brickmakers Drive therefore adding up to 350 trucks a day to the already busy road!! With regards to the road issue for the Mirvac homes estate - Liverpool council will only do the minimum requirement - look when GF was built and they have only done the minimum to help with the traffic flow along Nuwarra and Newbridge dspite large public outcry at the time of building. Again can only recommend putting it in writing to the Council that we want more done to relieve the traffic that will clog Brickmakers. Already if I leave home after 7.15 in the morning I have to line up for up to 20 minutes to get out of Brickmakers! Writing letters and encouraging others to do so is the best way to have our voices be heard on these issues!! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5903Jan 11, 2015 3:00 pm One further thing while I'm at it - I live towards the end of Conlon where there are a lot of empty blocks and I am dismayed every day by the large number of fools who walk their dogs with no leads around here! I am talking large breed dogs like bulldogs and rottweilers. It is only a matter of time before someone gets hurt by one of these uncontrolled animals or another beloved pet gets ripped apart by them. My dog likes to go for a walk on her lead but I am too terrified by the unrestrained dogs to take her out! There are so many children around here including my own and I so scared these animals will hurt them - and I can't for the life of me see what their ineffectual owners plan to do about it! People move to GF for the lifestyle but it is being ruined by the inconsiderate few... Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5904Jan 13, 2015 1:55 pm Hi GF Residents, I am building with WH and have just received my tender presentation. I am not too happy with 2 things: 1) Sewer Peg Out Report for $910 2) Adjacent Lots Footprint Survey for $250 Can anyone provide any insights onto whether they had to have these done or if there is anyway around them? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5905Jan 15, 2015 9:55 am Hi All Just want to bring this to everyone that we went to GF this weekend to inspect our lot and found that some people are dumping their old stuffs on the vacant lands. Please don't do that. Coz later on the builders will charge the owner of that land for removal cost. I believe all the residents of GF are generous and cooperative. We saw household stuffs like broken fans, wardrobes, pots, etc. I don't think so it being dumped by builders but I agree with you, they does this kind of things to charge customers with extra bills. Has anyone read the below news regarding the Moorebank Freight Terminal. Does this gonna affect the GF community? http://www.smh.com.au/business/billion- ... 20tfo.html Hey Hasan Looks like the new development is going to affect Wattle Grove area ( I know its not that far away from GFs). I am sure if the new development goes ahead we will see another increase in traffic on Nuwarra Road and Newbridge Road. Brickmakers Drive has 5 ton load restriction, however you still can hear trucks driving by in the estate. On another note, I urge GF community to write to Liverpool Council requesting for another access point to be developed to access Brighton Lakes. The development is not approved by the council yet and we still have time to express our concerns. New development will not only affect residents on Brickmakers Drive and surrounding streets, it will affect the entire estate- increased traffic, pollution on noise. Hi Denot You are right, it will be better to do it as a community and obtain signatures from all/most residents. That depends if residents agree with the above and happy to show their support...... I myself had a week off and got home yesterday. While I was away I had a relative call me to inform of a busted pipe that was flooding the front yard and spilling on to the street. As far as I'm aware, this would be a plumbing issue and is covered in the warranty of a new home (built with WH, moved in mid October 2013). Can any one shed some light on what the appropriate actions should be? I prefer not to pay for a plumber to come out and fix someone else's dodge work (if that's the case, a bit presumptuous), however I don't want to live with out running water/showers. I have already taken pictures/video of the leak (about 1m from the RH side of the building at the front) and forwarded them off to the maintenance co-ordinator at WH, but no response as yet, as expected. I have also called and left a voice mail this morning. I know who did the plumbing job as I've had them come around to check the gas unit when we moved in (was leaking). Is it worth while getting them to come out myself? I'm at a bit of a loss here - any help is greatly appreciated. You don't realise how much you need water when you don't have it!
