Re: CountryHome's country build pg 12 kitchen and verandah 245Jan 10, 2015 10:39 pm Congratulations, she's so lovely!!! What a great distraction, the best Have you decided on her name yet? How is Dad recovering Re: CountryHome's country build pg 12 kitchen and verandah 246Jan 11, 2015 9:08 am Xx Lol trees, dad is doing ok. Pretty exhausted by the interrupted sleep (he wakes when she does and rolls over back to sleep within 5 mins). It's required lots of couch time in front of the cricket to recover nah, he's been great. Taking over with most of the toddler business so I can focus on baby. Re: CountryHome's country build pg 12 kitchen and verandah 248Jan 11, 2015 9:12 am Oh how gorgeous! Biggest congrats, hope you recover quickly! Super Mum by the sounds of it Look forward to seeing more of your beautiful build once you are back on your feet! I have two boys & it was lovely to have a daughter third time round. Love the pink!! I have just started to follow your build & it's just lovely to see a country/provincial build! Love your kitchen Re: CountryHome's country build pg 12 kitchen and verandah 250Feb 06, 2015 1:46 pm Thanks jodie and big block! I've been so slack in here! Partly because we've still been waiting on essential energy and things have been slow, and partly because I'm so flat out ATM But we have had some progress this week and both babies are asleep ATM so thought I'd update. Power was FINALLY connected to the site on Tuesday after a 6 week wait. Turns out the local guy was on annual leave. How stupid is it that no one else is available to do it!? My SS was not happy at all. But anyway, it's done now. So we've had the tiler and the painters there. I popped by today and the tiler is nearly finished. I've been a bit stressed about my tile choice, worried it wouldn't work with the provincial look of the house. But I think it's ok. The painters still have about a week of work to go. And then it's final fit out. I went to take some photos but my phone storage is chockers full of photos of the kids hehe. And DS (toddler) was starting to crack it with me so I didn't bother trying to make room. Will get back there ASAP to get some photos. Handover is expected to be about 3 weeks away, early march. I have flooring booked in for just before that and am currently trying to work on blinds and fencing. Argh. Brain overload. Re: CountryHome's country build pg 12 kitchen and verandah 251Feb 06, 2015 7:46 pm Can't wait to see photos! So much progress just in the last few weeks! Rest up mumma! Honestly, why was there only one guy!! We had a similar thing before our build started. Getting the meterbox took 10 weeks, so frustrating & rent down the drain lol. Not long to go! Tiles & paint final stages how exciting. Tough with kids I know. At least u saw the progress & were happy... Just keep us in suspense for a little longer Re: CountryHome's country build pg 12 kitchen and verandah 254Feb 07, 2015 10:24 pm Wow! Your daughter is v cute! And you must be very excited about the house almost being there. But can only imagine how tiring it all is. Interesting about your order of trades... and super frustrating about the power guy Re: CountryHome's country build pg 12 kitchen and verandah 255Feb 09, 2015 12:56 pm haychhhhh Can't wait to see photos! So much progress just in the last few weeks! Rest up mumma! I feel like I have no rest time ATM! Trying to juggle everything is exhausting! And just to make my life even more tiring, I've decided to start trying to toilet train DS. What am I thinking!? So jealous your place is finished. Can't wait until we can move in jodie63 What blinds are u going for?? Hehe jodie, will try not to keep you in suspense for too much longer! At this stage, I'm going to go for block out roller blinds throughout. Then once we are in the place for a bit, ill add curtains or sheer/privacy blinds depending on furniture and sun and views from the street etc. I really want decent blinds in now because we have kids and i want secure blind cords and darkened house in the evening etc. But I'll do the other window coverings later on partly for financial reasons and partly to have time to decide what will work. Interesting about your order of trades... and super frustrating about the power guy /quote] Thank you!!! Yes, the order of trades has been changed around a bit due to painter being delayed as he had no generator. The other tradies with their own generators came out and kept working until the meter box was connected. It is so exhausting ATM. But I just keep thinking about the end result once we are in and set up and the kids are old enough to interact some more. Very impressed with how everything is coming together Yes probably a bit mad trying TT now but better while the weathers warm they say don't they??? Don't apologise! I've been slack at getting on here at all lately. I believe that's what they say, and he just seems really ready. Will see if my patience is ready though!! Ok, pics!! Painter and tiler both working away so excuse the mess. Here's some tiling pics pre-grout.
