Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 05, 2015 9:26 pm Hi guys Has anyone built or is building with Mojo Homes? Would love to know your experiences. Re: Mojo Homes 2Jan 06, 2015 6:17 pm No takers?? Please don't let my user name dissuade you - totally a coincidence!! We are currently in the process of organising a tender with Mojo Homes and wanted to get some feedback as we can't find any info on the internet (I understand they are a newer builder associated with McDonald Jones Homes). Re: Mojo Homes 3Jan 06, 2015 8:30 pm I could not find any reviews on this builder either when we were deciding on one. They are building a display home where we bought our block of land at Watagan Park. We are going with Oracle who also have no reviews online anywhere, maybe it's a good thing! Re: Mojo Homes 4Jan 06, 2015 8:50 pm Thanks Pink86 - fingers crossed that it's a good thing! Hopefully we will be guinea pigs in the right way Good luck with your build Re: Mojo Homes 5Feb 10, 2015 8:07 pm Hi All, We haven't got very far yet, but are looking pretty closely at building with Mojo - will be interested to follow this thread and will update with our experiences (should we proceed with Mojo of course). Re: Mojo Homes 8Mar 12, 2015 11:38 pm Hi We are building with Mojo Homes, after at least 16 months looking for a design and builder we were happy with we choose Mojo. We are building a modified Oracle. Would love to here of anyone else's experience with Mojo. Re: Mojo Homes 11Apr 02, 2015 1:25 pm Hi guys Since I started this thread I thought I should let you know what we are doing (even though it is months later - haven't been on for a while.) My partner and I are building with Mojo - we have just made our colour selections. We've had a few hiccups along the way, which are probably just teething problems since they themselves are newer builders. The selections range that they offer (not that I have anything to compare to but reading other people's posts who have gone with other builders) is quite good. We did, however, get an upgrade to Mojo Me as part of our package so am not sure of the standard range, but the Mojo Me upgrade is quite good and we didn't feel the need to further upgrade much. Re: Mojo Homes 12Apr 02, 2015 1:30 pm Hi Charlie We are having a few problems with them. I understand that they are new and have been very patient. We had our first initial appointment in mid October and have just had out first colour walk through with no date yet for colour selection. To be fair we have modified the oracle but being part of McDonald jones group I thought they would be a little more efficient. Were are you building and what did you choose to build Re: Mojo Homes 13Apr 02, 2015 2:21 pm Hi Leelee79, Sorry to hear you have had a few problems. We had our first colour walk through about a week after paying our deposit. My understanding is that we won't receive our final colour selection appointment until we have signed off on the plans. That will still be a while away for us as we haven't got to consolidated tender yet, but our land doesn't register for a while. Hope the process goes smoother for you now! Where are you building? We are building in north kellyville. Re: Mojo Homes 14Apr 21, 2015 9:33 am Hi guys, My wife and I are building with Mojo Homes also and this has been our experience thus far, we signed up in November 2014 yet only had our colour appointment this month not to mention the comical back and forth getting our tender/final tender/consolidated tender together. At our plan review meeting before the colour appointment we were advised that our house will now be completed February 2016 as you could imagine my wife and I were very disappointed with this as the sales person had set the expectation as December 2015 when we signed up and that means including council we are looking at 10months before MoJo are starting our place not good enough as our land is registered and ready to go. During our appointment we were in the same session as a couple building with McDonald Jones yet they had only signed up in January 2015 that shows the difference between the processing organisation between the two builders even though they are some how affiliated with MJH they have independent departments and hence are slower and less competent in my opinion. pricing wise this is where we are at currently after colours appointment : House (39sq) 298000 Modifications extras including aircon etc 20000 Site cost. 18000 Facade. 35000 Colours / upgrades 20000 Electrical budgeted 6-8000 I sincerely hope the building process is much smoother, my wife and I have now decided to not sell our current property till completion as we are not convinced they will finish on time or to our exceptions unfortunately we are now emotionally invested in the house so have to now bear what ever Mojo inflicts upon us until completion ..... Wishing myself luck.... Re: Mojo Homes 15Apr 21, 2015 12:14 pm I'm so sorry you are going through this. Thought it was only us. Our very first appointment was on early October and we are still waiting in our consolidation tender. They keep telling me we will be onsite in June. Lol doubt it!!!! Still no colour selection appointment even though I asked them to accept my external colours now so it can go to council. Well no luck with a reply for that question. I'm overly invested emotionally. It's the only plan in 18 months that I love. So we are riding it out aswell. Their communication is very poor. Left a message a week ago as I found an error on my plans but no call back yet so I'll wait and see if they pick it up for the final tender. We are saying we'd be lucky if we were in by march next year. We have sold and are now renting till completion. Where are you building ??? Re: Mojo Homes 17Apr 21, 2015 6:24 pm Hi guys, We are building in Elizabeth hills, also to me this whole tendering process is B.S as it's more like delay tactics on their part.LeeLee I can't believe you have signed up in October yet still do not have a consolidated tender be more proactive as they are stitching you guys up big time call up the sales person persistently as this is the only way we speed up their clunky processes up with mojo or I'd consider either call / email the CEO by now that is basic customer service they are lacking. May I ask which house you are building? Re: Mojo Homes 18Apr 22, 2015 7:55 am I do call the sales guy. Most of the time he doesn't answer until I send a very angry email. Our land registered in feb we are building at oran park a modified oracle which is now a 58sq house. They tell me it's there first modified house like this so it takes time. The first lot of drawings that came back in November were like the receptionist drawing them not sure if that's true but they were way off what I had drawn with the sales guy. They told me two weeks for my final consolidation tender which is the end if this week. If I don't have them by mid week I will def send an email and cc the CEO. But I'm not sure it will help. I don't think they realized how quick they would pick up business and now can't keep up. We had a colour walk thru last month and the girl there said they were booked till mid may back then so I'm guessing it will be end of June before we get back in. I have asked them to book the appointment while we are waiting on plans and obviously that hasn't happened. And they vNt send plans to council till the colour appointment. Really they have no time management skills at all ! Re: Mojo Homes 19Apr 27, 2015 12:10 pm Leelee79 Hi Charlie We are having a few problems with them. Were are you building and what did you choose to build Hi Leelee79 I am sorry to hear about the problems that you are having and I hope that you have had your colour selection by now... We seemed to have our appointments booked quite efficiently, though that may be as we are purchasing a house and land package at East Leppington. We are building the Bolero - just a small little house We also made a few changes to the plan, and there was a little to'ing and fro'ing with that - not sure if maybe we didn't explain things properly but I think (fingers crossed) that is now all sorted. Where are you building and which design did you choose? Re: Mojo Homes 20Apr 27, 2015 12:55 pm Leelee79 I do call the sales guy. Most of the time he doesn't answer until I send a very angry email. Really they have no time management skills at all ! Hi Leelee79 Sorry - I didn't read your emails following the one that I replied to above. I do understand your frustration as we did also have some problems with contacting people at the beginning. The person that we are dealing with now is great but at the same token there is a lot of to'ing and fro'ing with what it is that we are after and there have been many revisions of the consolidated tender and plans. Make sure that you keep on asking for what you want because it can easily be missed... Though we did have a situation where were requesting something which we were assured (several times) was included, but then wasn't and we had to pay extra... I do think you hit the nail on the head when you say that they probably didn't realise they would get so busy so quickly so they haven't perfected their processes yet. Also it seems that at the beginning of the year there was only one sales person at the Kellyville display home but they have since employed a couple more.
