I am a little worried about the bedrooms on the west, however there will be a house contrsucted on the west side which which will hopefully protect us from the westly sun. Later on I will put some of the choices we have made, however we have a long way to go. Would you mind sharing how much its costing you for this home? & did you upgrade or is a turnkey price? We have purchased land in cooranbong & have been quoted $251k turnkey from one builder & $257 turnkey from another with a very similar plan to yours. Best of luck with the build
Re: Building a Sekisui house West Wallsend 14Dec 28, 2014 12:38 pm Thats a bit funny bluebettie we are going to be almost neighbors. Pink86 we have upgraded a few things and have ducted aircon plus have had to put a split in our house plus and have 2.7m cielings as a design requirement and then 3m from the split. So our estimate is showing 260k have not recieved tender price as of yet. Which is not turnkey. Oracle was a promotion home at $251k turnkey & Coral was $257k turnkey. Re: Building a Sekisui house West Wallsend 17Jan 12, 2015 7:44 pm Now that the christmas break has finally came to an end. Things can start to move again, we have our tender meeting on Saturday morning, which is exciting, hoping the price remains close to our proposal price. Also have been looking into retaining walls, we need one on the side of the house where all the bedrooms are. The clearance to the boundary is only about 1.2m, the landscaper ideally would like to do the retaining wall before construction of the house begins. I am unsure whether sekisui would allow this and I am worried about the wall being damaged during construction. We are also working through choices, has been hard when so many show rooms are closed over Christmas and new years. Have decided on a caeserstone bench top **** and ice snow tops for the bathrooms. I will put photos up later, on my way to work for night shift sigh would much prefer to be going to bed. It came back at 279 and where hoping for the 260-265 range, however they had charged for things they shouldn't have, for example we are having 3m cielings beyond the split however they had charged it as 3.25m insulation was also charged but is included in our package. So there is room to move. We have also decided to add .5m to our island bench in the kitchen add a cupboard to the WIP and put double doors to kids retreat so we can close it off. So we are now waiting for a second tender to come through which should have updated plans and pricing. On the land side of things the conveyancer now has the contracts which i am going to review on wednesday. Everything is moving slowly. Now we really need to start making decisions about our colour choices, went to beaumont tiles yesterday and ended up changing our colour choice for our bench top but didn't make any tile choices . So have decided to go clamshell for our caeserstone which is lovely and is in a grey tone but now means i need to rethink a few choices as our orginal colouring incorporated more brown tones. just hope we can the price within our budget and make everything work. With your tiles, also see if there is a secondary tiling provider? We went to Beaumont Tiles but in the end Dilorenzo called us after our paperwork went in so we ended up selecting from Dilorenzo! It's kinda silly how you choose the benchtop and cabinets away from the tiling selection. And then the tiling selection can still change depending on what they have in stock by the time you need tiles! What about external colour choices? Did you go through a preliminary selection so you can have an idea of the impact on the tender?
