Re: Regatta 2920 (Planbuild -Brisbane) - Handover complete : 216Dec 17, 2014 2:27 pm BuildingMyFirst Has anyone here have concrete piers constructed to support the slab? Did you visually confirm that it went in? Yes our slab has piers and we did see it done, only by chance we used to check it out every few days. I was trying to find a picture but I don't think I have any that shows it well enough , I remember there was rio poles coming out of the concreted sections. Re: Regatta 2920 (Planbuild -Brisbane) - Handover complete : 217Dec 17, 2014 8:21 pm I went and visited the slab preps. I was not able to see any indication that piers has been installed. I immediately raised the question. The builder advised that it has been installed. Apparently, the engineer who inspected the ground decided that piers are no longer required - meaning it was actually not installed. I'm a bit irritated because if I did not visit the site, I would not have had any clue that the piers have not been installed. Not the best start for the build.. but I hope that the following stages goes smoothly. Lesson for others who are about to enter their house construction - if your drawings shows concrete piers, ensure that you as the client (or your representative) visually confirm that it has been installed in accordance with the design (number, diameter, reinforcement, depth). Note that concrete piers are useless if it is not sitting or embedded into firm natural ground. Re: Regatta 2920 (Planbuild -Brisbane) - Handover complete : 218Feb 15, 2015 5:27 pm Can you believe that we've been in our houses for 6 months already! We are just compiling our list for our 6 monthly maintenance inspection. These are some of the things that we've listed for maintenance: 1. Movement- a couple of the architraves have come away from the wall and the door to the linen cupboard is difficult to close. 2. Chipped glass in a window in the lounge area. It is where they cut the glass and it's not noticeable because of the edging. We only noticed it when hanging blinds but would like it replaced as it creates a weak spot in the glass. 3. Main toilet does not fill back up with water and will therefore not flush unless we lift the case off and lift the pump. 4. The main shower- the silver base around the bottom of the shower (on the outside) has completely corroded underneath the protective film and is all marked and ugly. The ensuite shower is fine so not sure what has caused the main bathroom shower to turn this way. We noticed it about a month after we moved in and that shower is barely used. 5. The tile behind the tap in the ensuite shower is chipped away where they cut it to install the tap and therefore there is a noticeable hole in the wall which worries me as I do not want water getting down there. 6. All our shower/bath taps have been colour coded wrong. They're on the right side according to Australian standard i.e. left is hot and right is cold but the colour codes says it should be hot water but it's actually cold water and vice versa. Hope that makes sense? Doesn't really worry us, only concerned about children using it and not realising. All in all we are fairly happy with everything. Not any huge dramas. Hopefully Planbuild are quick to rectify the problems and don't try to place the blame on us for anything, particularly the shower base. That's our biggest concern and the one thing we desperately want repaired/replaced. What kind of problems have you found Cinquain/Savish? Would be interesting to compare :-D Modified Miami 31- Brighton Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=91265&f=31&p=1789112#p1789112 Re: Regatta 2920 (Planbuild -Brisbane) - Handover complete : 219Mar 11, 2015 8:41 pm Louii383, Savish, Cinquain and Kailie86, how was your overall experience with PB? Rate from 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest. Are you going to build with them again? We are fairly happy with the overall experience, I would rate the experience as a 7 out of 10. Communication was their biggest downfall but from what i've read online, that's pretty common for most project home builders. In the end, they built the house we wanted in less then 3 months from site scrape and it seems to be well built (this comment has been made several times by tradies we've had out to do work post-handover). Would we build with them again? probably not, but that's not because of anything Planbuild did/didn't do. When we eventually build again it will be our dream home and it will be with a smaller builder. I think Planbuild offer exceptional value for money, we spent 18 months looking for a builder and we couldn't find another in SE QLD that could match the number of inclusions we got for the amount of money we were will to spend. Our 6 month maintenance request was actioned quickly and all things we pointed out are now in the process of being rectified. :-D Modified Miami 31- Brighton Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=91265&f=31&p=1789112#p1789112 Hello Josh, This is Irving from PRIMA, we are a manufacturer of the staircase, railings, kitchen cabinets, windows, doors from China.
