For what it is worth and the drama involved in getting council to adjust it (with a fee most likely), a casual relocation under darkess one weekend night sounds like just the ticket. A client tried to do the right thing by Manly Council with the same problem and the red tape he encountered was extraordinary. This allows us to build the house in it's original location. Just waiting for the pit to be relocated which I was told should be done very soon... I also go a response from the Council, and they basically said the Sign can be moved with reason, which is basically is can only moved to a location that the sign still serves it purpose, so was basically told it can be moved the 3m if required as long as it can still be seem from traffic leaving the street opposite.
