Kevin did the inspection on Tuesday, I am yet to receive the report from him but SS said that (he walked through with Kevin together) he didn’t spot anything either. Hope he is telling the true and I am looking forward to the report.. Issue = trouble and it is something I don’t want… As per SS, the roof tiles should start to up today, and will have brickie onsite next Monday, and i expect to have plaster up on Wednesday... sound well... he admitted that there is brickie shortage, but he will try to get lock up phase completed before Christmas for me, hope it is true Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Our Milan - update after handover 13Nov 13, 2008 12:08 pm Gez8, i just PM you
Sharee, actually the 2200 design is very simple and it is what i like, but i would love to have an additional bedroom too, however the modified version (add additional bedroom) just doesn't look good, so i just go for the original design, still have enough space for me and DH anyway... I saw your thread too, hope everything is sorted and you can happily move into your house before Christmas... Thanks god i have not asked Sim@nds to do a lot, so even i can't get the refund from them, still doesn't hurt much... but will try to negoitate Total Cost - 1925 (all materials/labors) and i have got the following:- - 4 TV points - 2 phone point/CAT6E points - 1 Incoming CAT6 cable to starserve - 2 Quad Shield Cables to starserve - 1 Foxtel cable point - 1 Modulator Starserve kit Hope this doesn't sound too bad... I don't have a data point, still not sure if i need it, since my area will only have wireless and ADSL available... What is data point use for (if it is not used for broadband internet)? Not really a problem if any computers you have will connect wirelessly to your modem but if you have a secondary computer that doesn't it can be handy. You can also use them to run a voip phone point as part of your home network. or even , so i'm told, as addition phone line points for your main phoneline if you have the right gear. Re: Our Milan - update after handover 17Nov 20, 2008 8:57 pm Wohoo Congratulations Cleago!!!!
Thanks for the pics. I can't wait to be at that stage too. Can you please tell me how long it took for construction to start from the time the land was released? We would like to use Kevin too, hopefully we won't have trouble contacting him as some of the H1 members have. Did you contact him before your land was released or after? Sorry for all the questions.. i am looking forward to reading more on your build. You are probably the first one at Alamanda to write about their build BTW, what did you decide about the fibre optics? Re: Our Milan - update after handover 18Nov 20, 2008 11:02 pm Thanks kexkez, i guess i properly don't need the data point then.. i find it quick hard to understand the new technology sometime, i feel that i am old.. hehehe Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Our Milan - update after handover 19Nov 20, 2008 11:16 pm Hi Dreamhome
You won't believe it, the construction start right after the land settlement, i always thought that they need a few weeks to prepare, but they don't.. the site cut started 2 days after the settlement, then the water tap installed, then the temp toilet delievered...etc.. i spoke to Kevin the other day, he said he has been doing a lot of inspection in Point Cook area, so i think he should be able to fit you in.. i found it more easy to get hold of him in the morning / around 9am But he is quite busy i guess, i still haven't received the report yet... Per my previous post, i have an electrican doing the setup for me, quite expensive though, i hope it is worth... Once the optic fabic is made available, i still need to get an electrican (properly go with the estate contractor) to do the connection, so will be another cost later too Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Our Milan - update after handover 20Nov 21, 2008 6:13 pm claego Hi Dreamhome You won't believe it, the construction start right after the land settlement, i always thought that they need a few weeks to prepare, but they don't.. the site cut started 2 days after the settlement, then the water tap installed, then the temp toilet delievered...etc.. i spoke to Kevin the other day, he said he has been doing a lot of inspection in Point Cook area, so i think he should be able to fit you in.. i found it more easy to get hold of him in the morning / around 9am But he is quite busy i guess, i still haven't received the report yet... Once the optic fabic is made available, i still need to get an electrican (properly go with the estate contractor) to do the connection, so will be another cost later too Hi Claego, I too thought it takes a couple of weeks to start construction after land settlement. My understanding when i spoke to M is that i can't finalise the contract until the soil tests are done. And soil tests can't be done until land is ready and they are sure there is no more sewage/electrical/water works that are going to take place on the land. Do you know when your soil tests were done? Was it before land settlement? I can't choose my tiles or have my electrical appointment until all this happens. Also, they mentioned that they can't apply for the building permit until the land settles. So i am wondering how your builder did it as it can't take 2 days to get a building permit. Aparently it takes about 3-4weeks to get all the paperwork done and approved. Maybe i am getting it wrong then or is M doing it differently..? Thanks for the tip about calling Kevin early in the morning, i will try this. Did you call him before or after your land settled? Regarding fibre optics, the last time i spoke to the developer, they said that they are not sure which contractor they are going to use for the fibre optics. I am still waiting for more information regarding this. I thought that the fibre optics installations would have to be done during construction and cannot be done after handover as a conduit needs to be installed and a meter be placed in the garage for it... Again, not sure if i am getting this right as there is not much information around regarding this. M does not allow any other contractors on site while they are building anyway so if i can do it after handover, it will be great! I amazed your builder allowed another electrician to come on site while they are building, i think most builders don't... It's great that yours accepted as you probably will get better value for money when you use your own electrician. Like you said they also explain everything to you.. Good luck with your build and keep the photos coming Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71814 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5322 Your house should come in "as new" condition.
