Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 17, 2007 10:10 pm HI. We are building and have put in 32c ceiling height. Can anyone tell me how high this is in cm? We were at the house and we also noticed that they seem to have 'painted' the concrete on the ceiling on the ground floor for some bits, which we assume is the ceiling, and then in another section put like a gap between the concrete and ceiling, ie put ceiling panels in on these metal brackets. The odd bit to us is that the passage is full height, but then as you walk into the dining its about 10cm lower. Is this right? Any help would be great. You must be from Western Australia... There are a few ppl here who will be able to answer that question....unfortunatley one of them is not me Re: Ceilings and ceiling height 3Jun 18, 2007 3:11 pm Depending upon the type of roof construction - around 2700mm.
As for the dropped ceiling area maybe some pictures may help. Peter Clarkson - AusDesign Australia www.ausdesign.com.au This information is intended to provide general information only. No 5Jun 18, 2007 10:28 pm Yes we are in WA. The aircon is coming out of a bulkhead in the kitchen so its not for that, plus it would not be enough space for any ducting or plumbing. There is a section under the 2nd floor slab and another part which has roof. Almost seems like they did the bit under the roof too low so just kept going! Is just odd. We will raise with the builder and see what they say. pic 8Jun 21, 2007 11:09 am Thank you all for the help. Yes I want to get a picture but our camera broke last week so its getting fixed. Will see if I can get one and put up here. How do you show the picture? Meeting the builder to day so I will see what they say. reply 9Jun 23, 2007 12:01 am We spoke to the builder and they said it was normal to have a space under the slab if the ceiling was going under a mixture of roof timber and concrete. It is only a small space so we have decided it must be ok. Thank you for the help. Unless the room is for storage then it's non compliant BCA V2 2019 S3 P3.8 You have 2 options 1.
