Hi,
Does anyone know a place to buy bagged paver sand at Melbourne North area. Checked with Bunning. They are out of stock at the moment. Also would like to know the rough price as well.
Thanks in advance.

tomking.chen - I got my quote the other day from Better Bricks & Paving who are in Taylors Lakes ... not really north, more north-west. Re: Bagged paver sand 6Nov 10, 2008 9:40 pm oh sorry donuts. I thought you were after the sand for finishing off. Tomking may also be meaning the sand for under. i have used a range of sands under paving. from what is there already, (we are not short on sand in WA to brickies sand, sand from plasters, "paving sand" basic yellow sand. The yellow sand, tradesman type sands are good becuase they bind together when wet and go nice and firm. So the stuff you have left over will be fine i reckon if it means getting the job done. It is a bit like having a range of names for what appears to be the same looking sand There are some minor differences in them and in specialised trades they do matter. Not for paving. Don't you folks use road base over there anyway? Re: Bagged paver sand 8Nov 13, 2008 8:51 am Thanks a lot! I do mean sand for paving base. I got around 30 square meter to pave. Not sure what kind the quantity I should look at...
BTW, I found in some place people put "paver locker" into the gaps. Is this the same as gap sand? Or just a fancy name for gap sand?? Don't worry about what they are calling it it will do the job fine. I mean it's not like there is a paver locking sand mine if you get what I mean Just check it out yourself and say I want that one For under the pavers use some sort of sand that is used by brickies or plasterers. most of those bond well and form a good base. I normally use the left over for sweeping into the gaps. once it is dry it will sweep in fine. don't get hung up on what you are using for a small job you are doing yourself. It will work out well enough Re: Bagged paver sand 11Nov 14, 2008 11:28 am Thanks Fu. Unfortunately, the builder hasn't leaven any sand behind. Will go around shopping this weekend!
