Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 62Oct 28, 2014 7:27 am Hi neighbours - we drove past the site on the weekend. Looks like they're still levelling out the land. Nice to see some progress though. We are in Lot 70 and we asked Helen about the plans for lots 68 and 69 (as they would be our neighbours). I remember her mentioning to us in person that they were planning to build some duplexes on those lots. I didn't see lots 68 and 69 in the stage 3 brochure. But I might have received a cut-down version (i.e. only the lots that were available at the time we enquired). I also emailed Helen and Morgan about the build plan so I could get an indication of when our house would start building. They said the development manager finalises this closer to the commencement of construction. However, as a general rule they do follow the staging plan. But they'll confirm with us closer to the date. I really think that we won't be moving in until sometime in the first half of 2016. But I'm happy to be proven wrong! Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 63Nov 09, 2014 3:55 pm has anyone driven past the land recently and can give an update? If there is one. Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 64Nov 11, 2014 12:37 pm Hi all - I'm happy to find this forum, we are in Lot 58. Ken Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 66Nov 11, 2014 3:19 pm Thanks Frank. We went there a few weeks ago and they were levelling out the land. Guess we need to be patient.. Ken Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 68Dec 22, 2014 9:30 pm Hi everyone, we drove past the site on the weekend and it looks like there's been some progress, which is nice to see. Looks like the main road around our estate is sort of set out but the gravel or tar hasn't been put down yet. Also looks like some street lights have been put up in the middle (not sure if they work as we went during the day). So this was exciting to see!! Anyway, happy holidays to you all! =) Jen Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 69Dec 23, 2014 8:30 pm Hi Jen, Thanks for the update. I've been told that land registration will be end of March 2015. We bought in stage 2 and i reckon we'll be lucky to be in by end of next year. It's very exciting to hear about the development though. Merry Christmas all! Regards, Ben Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 70Jan 13, 2015 8:24 am Hi All We drove past the estate again over the weekend and kerbs have been put in! The road around the estate is now gravel - but still gated off so you can't drive through yet. But it was really nice to see that more progress has been made from only three weeks ago. Happy new year all! Regards Jen Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 71Jan 19, 2015 9:59 am Hi Jen, Happy New Year to you !! Thanks for the update. Hi All, Does anybody have the new Ponds Primary school's website ? The link from DET's website is broken. http://www.riverbank-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/ May be school's website is not ready yet. Regards, Anushka Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 72Jan 19, 2015 5:10 pm Hello guys, happy New Year to you! Anushka, unfortunately I am not able to answer your question. Perhaps someone else may be able to... I have another question. I am certain that all of you know the option list. There is at the bottom of the page the item called "Provide Digital Antenna connected to TV outlet using Satellite Splitter". Now my question, does someone know what this exactly is? I have left it off my list as I was able to find antenna installations for around $200-$350 depending on required antenna. And, why are they using a satellite splitter since there is no satellite dish used? Do you think it make sense to buy it from the option list or just get a normal antenna installed after moving in? It would be nice if someone would be able to answer my question. Thank you, Frank Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 74Jan 24, 2015 8:52 am Hi all, I have been told the land of stage 3 will be settled in April this year and requested financial is ready before settlement. Regards, Charles lot 13 Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 76Feb 08, 2015 9:52 am Hello guys, We went to the estate yesterday and we were able to walk in as some workers where cleaning up some stuff. We could walk to our lot, well - roughly, since there were no lot numbers, but we could guess where it should be. Almost everything seems to be done now except about 2 streets worth of final asphalt. We have seen also NBN termination boxes in the ground, after the tree park while walking in. Here are some pictures which we took. Staying at the top left corner of the tree park looking down direction lot 12,13, etc... Those are the previously mentioned NBN termination boxes. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is staying at lot 73 and looking up to the tree park. The white truck in the background was watering the grass stripe beside the curbs. This is located roughly at the location where lots 56, 79-81 should have been. No idea though what happened to them. After we walked back to the car, we received the email update from Helen with the revised / confirmed dates. To sum up, it is looking good for now. Frank Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 77Feb 08, 2015 9:06 pm Hi Frank, Wow... it's all happening !! We are on Lot 57 and the water ponds ( or drainage reserve) worries me. I hope it does not have negative effect on the valuation of our property. - Anushka Lot 57 Re: Aurora Estate - Alex Avenue - Schofields 78Feb 09, 2015 7:08 am Hi Anushka, I was happy to see the progress, especially when I compare it to the very beginning when we signed the contracts. Unfortunately, I don't know how the water pond influences the property value. It is perhaps a good idea to give Rawson a call and question it a little bit. Especially that you have bought the property based on facts which have been communicated through the brochure's plan, salesman and contracts and nowhere was mentioned a water pond near your lot. It could well be that this is only a temporary thing. So it seems like they just take on a lot of projects to get the cashflow for their own builds.
