Upsize Time: the driveway KH include is a narrow driveway? even we are building double garage house? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 805Oct 26, 2014 4:13 pm paulskee Siri33 we went to our house today and the sticker on the water tank is Tankworks and they had a website tankworks.com.au Parkskee, thanks for the info. Do you upgrade the water tank ? Or get the standard from K ? Is your water tank colorbond or poly? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 806Oct 26, 2014 6:44 pm Victoria yes the crossover comes back to a one car width. We didn't realise when the plan was done and no one mentioned it. So it starts at the width of the double then goes to 1 car. When we did the build we noticed how thin it was and raised it as a concern, if we changed it it was going to cost a lot and also, we would have to go through council approval again, time delay. Put it in the too hard basket as we just wanted it over and done with by then. Besides that though the concreter's thincken the edges to make it all level with the front patio and then did change the shape a bit to make it wider before crossover to make it easier for the cars but couldn't widen crosssover without council approval. All at an extra $$$ of course. It is a little bit of pain now as cars are outside not in the garage, but once we clear the garage it should be ok. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 808Oct 27, 2014 9:59 am Siri33 no we got the one from kurmond, 3000L, and im pretty sure its colourbond. Sorry i dont know much about it. suby_guy you can pretty much select any bricks from PGH and Boral. Kurmond has different ranges you can select from standard, silver and gold range, which the higher you go the more expensive it is. In our package we could select anything from the silver range but we ended up paying more as we liked the one in the gold range. Our bricks are from PGH name contour. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 809Oct 27, 2014 6:13 pm i checked the council website this morning..... And our plans have been approved!!!! Just a little over 2 1/2 months. Now bring on the next stage For those that have finished their build and have moved in.... Are the handover pics that get posted on Facebook compulsary? How does that work? I don't mind the finished product being posted (when we are eventually at that stage) as I do love having a sticky beak, but I'm really not into the cheesy 'hand shake' pic being captured LOL Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 810Oct 27, 2014 6:16 pm See, ours didn't get posted as the director wasn't available for the handover. So, I think it is only posted if the director does handover Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 811Oct 28, 2014 6:37 pm Hi, I am currently building in Jordan Springs. I was hoping someone could give me some info about how stict we need to be in following our landscape plan to get back our bond from Lend Lease/Jordan Springs. I have a landscape plan in place that Kurmond included but we want to put in our own plants, i have heard that I only need to complete the front yard in the first 3 months? Is this true? I dont want to buy all of the plants from the landscaping plan just to rip it all up after getting our bond back. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this? How strict have they been and has anyone not got there bond back???? Thanks Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 812Oct 28, 2014 7:45 pm Howdy We're also building in Jordan Springs with Kurmond and expect hand over next week (although having issues with the kitchen which you can see in my other thread that may affect it). From what I understand you need to have completed the landscaping in 3 moths but whether or not you need to follow the landscaping plan to the letter I'm unsure. We're probably going to do what was originally on our landscaping plan then make modifications afterwards (although not rip the whole thing out). Where abouts in JS did you build? We're in illoura... Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 813Oct 28, 2014 8:25 pm Hey, We are in Boronia, just had the roof put on last week and waiting for bricks. Im hoping i can get away with landscaping the front as per plan and then doing what i want in the backyard. It makes it hard to plan when i hear so many conflicting things. I wish i was at kitchen stage! Good Luck with it Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 814Oct 30, 2014 5:38 pm ihaveaquestion Hi, I am currently building in Jordan Springs. Thanks I would advise you to contact Rebecca Minney and the Lend Lease office and get a clear definition of what is required for Boronia. Having said that we have just recently been down that path with no issues what so ever. For us (Illoura) it was that proposed front gates were to be a minimum set back of 2m from the front building line,at least 50% of plants must be native and that any garden edging visible from the street must of brick or coloured concrete etc. I think that your guide lines would be similar to ours but give Rebecca a call, she's a really lovely person who will answer all of your questions Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 816Oct 31, 2014 12:37 pm Hi all So SS rang me this morning and the good news is that the kitchen doors will be replaced. A good outcome (and hoping that the replacement doors are much better!) The other good news is that hand over has been set for next Wednesday. The driveway got completed yesterday and it looks tops: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 817Oct 31, 2014 10:36 pm looks great mckz! Spoke with our SS today too... shower screens, mirrors went in today. Site and house clean up next week with garage door and possibly start of driveway. First inspection not next monday but the monday after. SO EXCITED! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 819Nov 04, 2014 5:17 pm K emailed the official council approval documents yesterday and within the points listed to obtain the construction certificate there is a 'fee' for $20,000!!!! The council has listed about six areas in which this amount will go towards including 'open spaces and park lands', 'new bike tracks' etc. Is this something that every council kindly does to unexpecting new home builders or am I lucky enough to have a ridiculous council?? Once you have budgeted for the cost of the house, any extras on your wish list and then all of the additional fees that pop up along the way, how can the council justify doing this and why were we not warned about this HUGE amount at some point along the way? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 820Nov 05, 2014 9:25 pm We had hand over today! All went really well! The kitchen cabinetry was still messed up though (half the cabinet doors were replaced and look fine - the other half not so. But the SS and director of Kurmond are on board that it still needs to be rectified) but everything else has come up great. During the middle of the handover that massive storm hit and the backyard started flooding like crazy. It was all fun and games until the water was about to start overflowing into the alfresco and suddenly we had a scramble on with the director and the SS to quickly punch some holes in the storm water drains so that the water had somewhere to go (the grates are sitting higher than the ground level until landscaping is complete). It settled down though and the water drained down the side of the house... whew A bit of excitement! Kurmond have posted our house photos on their facebook page though so take a look if you're interested I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 109499 Hi there!
