They are shaped like butterflies (hence the butterfly tree is one of its common names). I also like how the tree grows, the trunk is interesting. And the variety I have grows to btw 3-4 meters. I've got one white flowering one and two lilac. They are struggling through the winter here and with the more acidic soil, but should pick up soon. . . (I need to regularly add lime as the soil is mostly clay.)
