Hi nathanc01,
I've been reading on this forum for the past few weeks, as I've also just bought land at Springwood. I did the same thing as you. I have wanted to build for as long as I can remember, and am now in a position to do so, so went out to have a look at display homes for ideas, and to see how feasible the dream was. Fell in love with the area, it had the same feel that Golden Grove did 20-odd years ago. 2 weeks later I signed the contract, and settlement is happening on 14th October.
I'll be doing the same as you - just sitting on the land for at least 12 months to save a bit more. When my lease expires in March we'll be moving in with my mum for 12-18 months.
I'm really keen on the Simonds Palisade, which is very similar to the Sierra on display at BC. I had my heart set on a MainVue design, but they don't build in SA anymore When I spoke to Haydn he asked what lot I had purchased and he mentioned that the people next door are building a double storey...what street are you in? We could be neighbours!

My brother built with MainVue and had his house completed right before they went under. We liked their two storey design the Emporium and the week they went under we had a meeting with the consultant to get a rough construction cost. We took that as a sign to not build yet. Two or so years later we've come to here.
If you're building in a court with lots starting with a 5 then we would possibly be neighbours. Haydn did mention to us about a month ago that he had spoken to the owner of the block next to ours and that they were considering a Simonds build also. As far as I'm aware, with simonds at least, that ours is the only two storey in our court
