I think that in both the drawing & in what's built, that line you see under each shelf is the wooden support at the back of the shelf against the wall. It's deceptive, in the drawing it does look a lot like the nicer-looking piece at the front as per the display home. I'd be annoyed; but I don't think you can do anything about it. The vertical support would probably have been needed anyway, as it's quite a long shelf. In the end I'd be telling myself it's just a pantry, and that the door's going to be closed 99.99% of the time ... If it was at the front it would be a dark line like the front edge of the shelf. What has been built in your house and what is on the drawing are the same... the only thing I would think you might be able to push is the vertical support bar that is running in front of the shelves as that isn't shown on the drawings.
