But I have read that if you have a dedicated room for Home theatre, go for 7.1 and you will see the difference. In your case, I don't see a reason you should not choose them. You have a decent size room with high ceiling. Not sure if you are going to have some false ceiling and darker paint to create that cinema feel. Regarding the sub, you can get a decent active sub or better go in a showroom and see the difference yourself.
