Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10786Aug 27, 2014 7:43 am Just waiting on final PCV & plans, then should be starting construction not too long after I've contacted Di Lorenzo to confirm availability of my choices made back in late April; just waiting on their reply. Hoping to stay on top of any availability issues that could potentially result in a lack of choice of replacement as previously mentioned here Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10787Aug 27, 2014 3:18 pm House is ready but Landscaping and fencing going to be a huge cost, due to blocks of dirt at the back and on the sides... Should get the handover by October, and I really underestimated the cost of landscaping. Got a few quotes around... and it will easily cross 15-20k for me. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10789Aug 28, 2014 2:13 am Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with a question in regards to the FHOG. When we signed our building contract we were pretty close to the 650k threshold, and thats the figure we submitted on our FHOG forms. Now with PCV 's all added up we are a tad over. I'm jut wondering if the PCVs will now make us ineligible for the grant ? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10790Aug 28, 2014 7:08 am Morning FHOG is based on land and original building contract price. PCV's dont count. We've JUST done this so the information is up to date. Canucks23 Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with a question in regards to the FHOG. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10792Aug 28, 2014 9:34 am We spoke to our Broker and Conveyancer about it. Conveyancer looked after our land stamp duty partial concession and broker looked after FHOG. both gave the same advice. I have just came to know today about following news posted in Wisdom Homes facebook page and this news making me worried and i believe everyone will be concerned about it after reading this. http://smh.com.au/nsw/recall-for-faulty ... 08y25.html if anyone knows what sort of wiring and brand EB used or at the moment using then would u be able to share please. They mentioned the households impacted by this recall will be the one who've had any electrical works done at premises from 2010 until 2013. Anything after 2013 is fine. I'll still check with my CSA now for peace of mind :p Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10795Aug 28, 2014 2:05 pm I love this forum for information sharing, but boy do you people scare me at times Quiklec have come back with a response about the cables: We do not use the cable in question- all cable is Australian Standard Certified. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10799Aug 31, 2014 2:11 pm With regard to tiles selection, Di Lorenzo have said that the tiles get ordered around frame stage of construction, & their HO only contact them if there is an issue at or after that time, so it may be wiser to contact Di Lorenzo when the frame is going up to ensure the tiles are still current & have been ordered from one batch in the quantity required hope that helps to prevent tile dilemmas in future. I will go ahead with same, & advise how it pans out Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10800Sep 08, 2014 6:37 am Hi All, Just wondering has anymore recently had floor to ceiling tiling for the ensuite /bathroom? We recently received a PCV for it and was surprised the additional fee we have to pay. An additional 25-30% from EB on top of Di Lorenzo. An example as such to provide return trip for plasterer to fit cornice to wet areas $385, provide additional house cleaning due to tiling option $300 and provide awning window in lieu of standard sliding window $119. We are not so concern about the awning window upgrade however the other two items are ridiculous. Let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks and regards, Bandie I built with EB back on 2009.
