Thanks, evec. $1,400+ seems a bit exxy for just a sink and cupboard. Guess I'll pass on it, too. I also extended the rest of the cabinetry for $896..I think this is a rip off..hopefully at tender price is alot lower than this.. Re: Henley Homes 290Aug 25, 2014 6:41 am Did anyone get bricked for their alfresco piers? All their display homes have brick piers in the alfresco (double storey), but I've just found out that they just supply a metal painted post as the finished standard. This is being done to both mine and a friend who is also building double storey. Is that normal? See photo... This is it. No bricks around it, only painted afterwards... Henley just had new promo out they reduced their prices for all houses.. It's funny you say that. They have a recent new $10,000 promotion coupon for spending on upgrades, but in the past 12 months the price of the house I'm building with them has increased by exactly 15,000. Re: Henley Homes 292Aug 25, 2014 6:53 am Worktime this is my alfresco. Is this what u wanted to know regarding the pillars? It was standard at the time i signed up. Woukd have been nice to have the choice, it wasn't even offered to us and we assumed it would be bricked. I thinking assuming was our first mistake. Learning a lot as the build goes on. I too assumed it too. I noticed when they increase price they add in more and better inclusions. Now with the price slashed, the Colorbond roof inclusion not there anymore. Re: Henley Homes 295Aug 25, 2014 7:11 am I like house Pearz.. Doing the same color scheme as yours. We chose the Truffle scheme. Re: Henley Homes 297Aug 25, 2014 7:37 am This is quite poor form from PH. We were never offered an option of upgrading to brick piers for our alfresco, and it should be standard like many other builders. The steel beam looks horrible. Prior to signing a contract with PH, I'd say people should make sure their alfresco piers are not painted steel posts and to also check their kitchen exhaust rangehood is ducted externally. Mine was ducted to the ceiling roof! Imagine all that grease getting stuck there!
Re: Henley Homes 298Aug 25, 2014 7:56 am Does anyone notice how all the prices listed on PlantationHomes.com.au is for a Millar facade (the cheapest/most basic facade option), but more than 3/4 of the homes displayed on that site have no photos of the Millar facade? How do they get away with things like this? lol Imagine if you went to Apple.com and were shown photos of the latest iPhone with the RRP price. You rock up to their store and then the sales people say "Well, if you want the one displayed on the website with the nice hard metal shell, it'll cost you $200 extra, otherwise we can sell you a basic plastic casing for it, which is the same price mentioned on the website, although there are no actual photos of it on our website". People would be furious!! Re: Henley Homes 299Aug 25, 2014 8:32 am sneakersss evec sneakersss Did anyone get the sink option in the butler's pantry? Thanks, evec. $1,400+ seems a bit exxy for just a sink and cupboard. Guess I'll pass on it, too. We looked at it but dropped the sink and kept the cabinets I think that was about $800. Then at tender we needed some extra cash so we dropped the cabinetry and instead bought all the shelves out to the same depth as the bench top. Now they are all the same size. Cost for that was $400 I think Sent from my iPhone using ones and zeros and 4G Re: Henley Homes 300Aug 25, 2014 8:43 am Our plans say 125x125mm SHS post in the alfresco. I'm not phased as we were told at colours that it could be any colour we wanted. Doesn't worry me if it's brick or not it def won't cost $1000 to brick it, bricks are cheap, so are brickies. Rather than go to the extreme of ACA have you asked how much it would be to have it bricked? Another thing to maybe think about is to ask your SS if they can get the brickies to brick it for you, they just brick around the post anyway AFAIK.
