I fear we're going to have to get use to this waiting business. The next year or so of our lives is going to be spent waiting for something or other to do with the build! Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Building the Daydream 32 with Coral Homes 32Aug 08, 2014 7:59 am Hi Mellywil, Well I waited all day to receive my second tender letter,I went straight to the final price,I was pleasantly Surprised, this only lasted a short time as I quickly realised that there were several items requested not Included, many mistakes and worst still some of the measurements were incorrect. Talk about an anti climax, Not happy at all,I love love love the marcoola 32 and we want to move forward, get the tender right, how hard can it be? My husband is seriously considering looking elsewhere, I've convinced him to give them another Chance,oh, by the way, they still haven't got fixed site cost? Hello, it only been 2 months, please people do your jobs,so that I can have my beautiful marcoola 32. Thanks for listening to me,venting always helps. I'll keep you posted. Any news from your end? Have a good day, Julie Re: Building the Daydream 32 with Coral Homes 33Aug 08, 2014 10:35 pm That sucks but your doing the right thing by holding them out until the paperwork is perfect. We delayed our build by a little while so the paperwork would be correct, believe me when I say at construction time if it's not in writing you've got no chance. We found in the end it was quicker to make an appointment and sort it all out face to face, is this an option for you? I just want everything to be right, and we understand once we sign the contract if it's not right, there nothing we can do. My husband has already sent an email addressing some of our concerns,we had a email back within hours addressing some of them,it's sad that you have to tell them that you'll walk if they don't get it right, before they take you seriously. Julie Re: Building the Daydream 32 with Coral Homes 35Aug 10, 2014 5:00 pm That's so frustrating! I agree, how can it be so hard to get it right? How'd the meeting go this morning? Still no news here. Surely it can't take longer than three weeks (and it's three weeks tomorrow) for soil test results to come through? I'll be calling/emailing tomorrow... I admire our sales consultant for all of the efforts she's put in, it's a shame their HO doesn't have the same work ethic as the sales representatives. I'm pretty confident that they'll get it right this time. My husband has more or less said we'll take our business elsewhere if it's not right,I don't want this to happen as I love the Marcoola 32.I usually get my own way, however when my hubby believes it's an up hill battle just to get paperwork correct,it won't take much to push him over the edge.He prefers Binet Homes as he has built up rapport with the owner after speaking with him,he feels it would be a more hands on project with Binet. I'll keep you posted Let me know how you go with getting your soil test results. Julie To all others who are building or have built with Coral what size fridge and microwave spaces did you go for? We want a fairly big fridge just not sure of size? Any ideas? Julie Re: Building the Daydream 32 with Coral Homes 37Aug 13, 2014 10:09 pm Hey guys! We've put our deposit on the land and tomorrow we have our appointment with Coral to finalise what exact inclusions we want in the tender. Step by step, getting there! How's everyone else going? Sorry for not having much time to respond- we've both been working really hard and ridiculously busy Cath. Daydreamin' about our Daydream Re: Building the Daydream 32 with Coral Homes 38Aug 14, 2014 11:27 am Oooh, that's exciting Cath! No need to apologise... if anything, we should apologise for hijacking your thread!!! I hope your soil and other site tests have been done by the developer.... we're STILL waiting. Six weeks since the contour test - a month since the soil... Luckily we're not in a hurry, but still, my patience is wearing thin. I know what you mean about work,it's really busy for us at the moment also. Hi Mellywil,is it taking longer because it's KDR ? Seems a really long time, frustrating! I can wait until we all start our builds,I'm feeling impatient. Julie Re: Building the Daydream 32 with Coral Homes 40Sep 05, 2014 8:44 pm CatherineandMark Hey guys! Sorry for not having much time to respond- we've both been working really hard and ridiculously busy Cath. where about in northlakes? got a block!! Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13745 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1767 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74688 |
